The adamitite gollem is kicking my butt

And the most helpful of all walkthroughs that I've seen so far just says something along the lines of "once you kill the gollems you'll find the treasure..."
Minsc with haste, the flail of the ages and a -10 armor class can do about 3 points of damage a round. Even with Jahiera and Aerie doing nothing but casting healing I'm not managing to kill the gollem. Any tips?

A lot of people are having trouble with this. (I'm assuming you are reffering to the golem in de'arnise keep?).
The second time through, I did the keep much earlier, so I was a lot lower level. Although I had trouble killing it, I was still able.
One problem is, Minsc isn't the best warrior. I had Keldorn, Korgan, Anomen, and my main a dual wielding ranger. So I had a lot of melee power, but here is what I did.
Summoned some skeletons with Anomen and Aerie, next to the adomite. Put all my tanks on the other golem and triggered them alive by grabbing the bow with Aerie. I jumped the easier golem fast and hard, had it dead before the adomite was able to kill off the summoned skeletons. (They were just time buyers, didn't damage the golem) At this point, the golem has probably used one of his area cloud damages (This is what really hurts a party). So I rush him with all my melee people. As soon as he lets loose with another cloud, I fall back and let him come to me. Staying out of that cloud is VITAL. (Also having a few cure poisons up is very important, that poison is worse than his melee, IMHO).
If Minsc is your primary melee person, that could be part of the problem.
G'luck

If this is the golem that is at the D'Arnise Keep and you have Yoshimo in your party, you're in luck. That big sucker is too big to squeeze through the door, so use that to your advantage. Turn the golem hostile, and retreat through the door. Then have Yoshimo plant a few traps in the doorway. Those magical traps seem to do the most harm, so if the planting of the magical traps wasn't successful, reload. If the golem is standing right in the doorway, you can distract him away from it by having Yoshimo move towards the dungeon stairs. Once the traps are in place, lure the golem towards them. If your trap planting was a success, you should have drained away at least half of the golems hit points. Now use your best warrior with the +3 mace to finish him off. If it's going badly, retreat, heal, rest and have Yoshimo do the whole thing over again.
Luckily in my game, I was still relatively low level and so I only faced an iron golem. I haven't come face to face with an adamite one....yet.

I've tested a few things against iron golems and heres what I found. two Spells I used to get my info were shapechange and known alignment. Also alot of trial and error.
Armor class: 0.
Can only be hit by +3 or better weapons.
Hitpoints: 80-120
True Neutral
Resistances:
Fire: 100
Cold: 100
Electricity: 100
Acid: 100
Magic: 100
Magic fire: 100
Slashing: 20
Crushing: 20
Piercing: 20
Missile : 20
Well thats one tough customer I must say! But the bigger they are the harder they fall.
Cast either Pierce shield or Lower resistance x2 on the big oaf. That should knock his resistance to magic substantially down enough to get in there with a few offensive spells, I used magic missiles galore on him from outside the door and took zero damage. About 4-5 magic missile will do it. If you don't have enough magic missiles get your thief to lay traps in front of the golem and along the way to the door leaving enough room for your guy to exit.
Initiate the golem yourself by force attacking it and then scramble back out the room. Golem wakes and charges the guy who initiated him thusly stepping on 2 or more traps. Now he's injured and you can go ahead and cast those spells as I outline above on him in the safety of the next room. By this time you'll only need 2 magic missiles if the dolt lumbered across more traps.
Heres another strat I used.
Lower Risistance spell x2
Domination
Get our friendly new iron golem to smack the crap outta all the rest of the weaker golems in the room. It's just plain fun! Once all the other golems are dead stand him in the corner like a bad boy and administer some old school corperal punishment! Bwahahaahaaaa
Note* Clay gollems need to be hit with crushing damage and this does not apply to Iron Golems. You can spear, bash, or slash iron golums with anything that is +3 or better and with a little luck because these guys have 20% resistance to all forms of melee attacks.
"Bad golem, bad..bad golem..."

This won't help you against the Iron Golem directly but it might inderctly.
You can attack each golem one at a time without activating two at the same time.
I was too weak to beat the Iron golem so I just took the bow and ran.
(That might not be the most glorious strategy but it works
)
Can you go back in the keep after you finished the quest. I tried but the Roneal (sp?) took over.

The golem you are refering to is in windspar hills.
He only takes damage from the magic in your weapons, a +3 weapon therefore deals 3 in damage with each hit. The golem is also completely imune to magic.
Here is what you do:
Everyone in your party needs to have a "magical weapon". Summoned monsters and mages with stoneskin and mirror image make excelent targets for the golem while you grind it to dust, have your cleric lay back and heal the injured fighter. After killing the stone golems have everyone except the cleric hack at him and retreat the wounded ones as they get wacked.
First take out the two stone golems, they should go down quite easily. I

Dealing with Adamantite Golems and Iron Golems gets a lot easier when you can find some tight passages, or a door or something, as suggested in one of the above messages.
Next, you should make sure you have a two-handed sword, with at least +3 to it (I assume a Halberd will do just as well), and someone who can wield it of course
.
Lure the big guy to the tight spot, and watch as he helplessly tries to reach you. Now use the character with the two-handed sword, and attack him with it. Due to the range of the weapon, you'll be able to hit him, while he can't reach you (make sure you don't move too close yourself!) - that's how I got all those Iron and Adamantite Golems anyway.
Be careful though when he casts his poisonous breath - that'll reach the character, and hurt him bad if he gets poisoned. When you see he starts to cast it, retreat for some distance, until the cloud has dissipated. Perhaps the priest spell 'Zone of Sweet Air' might also work here (though I don't know if that spell is a continuous effect, or one-time-only).

Original question was about the Adamantite Golem and many responses are about an Iron Golem but there aren't that many differences. You can do it the way people are suggesting, but there are easier methods.
Some keys:
1) They don't fit through normal size doors so you can just stay back and kill them from a distance
2) You have to be able to do enough damage...
Methods:
The right equipment: Sling of Everard (Joluv, bonus only) is probably the best. If you don't have the bonus disk, Dwarven Thrower +3 from Trademeet is great if you have a dwarf. Throwing axes might do the job, but I think it needs to be a blunt weapon.
The right spells: lower resistance and just about anything works, but my favorite here is Minute Meteors...it may take a lot of castings to beat him down though.
Brute Force: As Minsc would say, "Great Fun!" but I wouldn't recommend it. BTW, I don't understand anyone knocking Minsc as a fighter. He has decent Str (18/93), Dex (16), and his skill choices aren't that bad since he can use Lilacor (good early weapon) and the Mace of Disruption effectively with no additional skills. Of course, ANY fighter equipped the way I have him now would be quite effective (Flail of Ages, Shield of Harmony or Defender of Easthaven (depending on enemy), Red Dragon Scale, Cloak of Mirroring, Ring of Prot +2, Ring of Regen, Helm of Balduran, Amulet of Spell Protection, Boots of Speed, Gauntlets of Dex and Belt of Frost Giant Str.)

If you bend the rules a little and export your character with Blackrazor, this is by far and away the best weapon to kill any golems i have come up against so far.

I know this is an old thread but I just wanted to mention that the Adamitite Golem can be beaten with the Frostheaver Axe +3 (+1 cold).
I retreated back through the rock door, let the golem stop there and huff and puff because he can't get through it.
Then I had Nalia, Aerie and Jaheira all cast monster summoning spells BEHIND the golem. The Golem turns around busying himself with the monsters, so I just walk up to him with the Frostheaver and pound on him. Coincidentally, I gave Minsc the Flail + 3 (The one you forge from D'Arnise Keep) and that did nothing!
So maybe this particular golem has a weekness to cold?
