When I did it, Minsc and a couple fire elementals could kill them pretty easily unless I just ran into the middle and got all of them after me at once.

If I were to do it with a lower level party, I would probably try the long range web/cloudkill strategy. Scout ahead with an invis character and figure out where they are. Then from out of vision range throw 2-3 webs that extend to cover the enemy and pin them down, followed by 1-2 cloudkills. This will kill any enemy that isn't highly magic resistant or immune to poison.

Cloud Kill on it's own will work against a lot of enemies, but some seem to figure out where it's coming from and charge you. If they do charge you and the webs don't hold, check why the webs aren't holding. If it's magical resistance, hit them with Lower resistance. If they're making their saves, use Doom or Greater Maliason.

The best way to kill a Tanari, is a hasted fighter with high strength(potion or girdle)
They are highly resistant to magic , fire lightning,acid and i also think they are imune to poison

Korgan had no problem killing the Tanari in Hell (he was level 11 with AC -5 and a +3 axe, frostreaver)

I havn't tried taking them one with magic.

Cloudkill will take out all the imps too, but that's just collateral damage: it will take out the Tanar'ri - actually, there are 2 of them and a Leda (not sure if that's a name or a type) but they're not together.

Even poison immune characters and creatures take damage from Cloudkill.

Tigergutt: Korgan only level 11 with AC -5 by the time you got to Hell? I'm still in the underdark and Minsc is level 16 with AC -11 even using spell defence items like the Shield of Harmony and Cloak of Mirroring in favor of items that would give a larger AC bonus. I guess I'm doing a lot more side quests than I really need to (;

Anyone know if I can do anything with the extra 2 demon hearts I have stored in the planar sphere? I thought maybe they could be used to get it plane hopping again.
