Jornandes, a half-elven Fighter/Mage
I got the name from one of Gibbon's sources for his "Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire." Jornandes was a 4th Century Roman historian. It also happens to be a variant of my middle name, Hernandes.

mohel "the razor" a thief in AD&D in Oerth
He was quite viscious when the matter was personal and always removed a certain part of the victems anatomy...and put it in their coin purse. He reserved this practice for slavers and corrupt polititions ^_^
Mohel is the name of the person who performs the circomscision in judeism by the way.

Agarnna...Cleric/Mage
I asked my little brother(4), what I should call my character and straight away he came out with Agarnna.
The boys got talent methinks.
Selphie is also a good name, taken from Selpie Tilmitt, out of Final Fantasy 8.
I called one of my characters from Icewind Dale that...a mage she was.

I don't know about origin (its original, I can tell you that.) but I just thought of it the first time I played DnD.

Torbjoern Egeskjold - nice viking name and just right for a dwarven beserker

The prefix "Tor" is the name of the norse god Tor (*no* h in Tor, thanks) and the postfix "bjoern" means bear. "Egeskjold" mean oak shield.

Dune names do sort of fit in here, which is odd since it wasn't meant to be a fantasy novel. Awesome series, thouhh.
My favorite would have to be:
Asiliar: Male, half-elven Sorceror.
Saramin: Female, human Priest of Helm.
Lokken: Male, half-elven Invoker.
Tirinal: Male, human Assassin.

Grishnakh, half orc cleric / thief, named after the vicious orc who tried to kill Merry and Pippin to get the ring from them in LOTR (second part).

Elysia Moonstar the Half-Elven Ranger(now an Archer in SoA)
She's a character I created originally for RPGs I do on AIM. The particular RPG it was for was in a world I created. She's half silven elf and half golden elf, giving her silvery skin and golden hair.
Elysia came from Elysian(sp?) Fields(Greek Mythology) and Elysia(sp?), Helios' home in Sailor Moon SuperS.
Moonstar came from giving her silvery skin and golden hair. She's known as The Moonstar.
Another of my faves is actually 3 sisters I created in IWD: Aijin Shoujo, Chitsu Shoujo, and Mune Shoujo. Basically, their names translate to Lover Girl, Vagina Girl, and Breast Girl.

Wilbur--Paladin (Undead Hunter). I just have a soft spot for the name Wilbur, and it's a rather unheroic name (no offense to any Wilburs out there) so I thought it would fit an unpretentious decent guy.
For female characters I often borrow the names of goddesses--Kali, Isis, Athena, etc. Simple but elegant.

Welcome to the Gamebanshee boards, Cap! I hope you enjoy your stay here and eventually gravitate over to SYM like any professional spammer is accustomed to doing.
