I know, every body is trying hard to not post spoilers on the forum (and fable is a big help) But still i've read some spoilers that i rather wanted to find out for myself. Like the existance of dragons, i didn;t read any posts about them, but a topic like "how to kill the red dragon" spoils the existence of dragons in the game. Same goud for ToB, i had decided not to read any posts about ToB before i got it, but when there was a topic as "How to chance the allignment of sarevok" i already knew that he was a new NPC, something i also would like to find out for myself. (can;t happen anymore cause theres the ToB Forum) I know that you can;t help getting spoiled, but somethings i would had rather found out myself.
What where you're biggest spoilers you would have rather not read about?
(forgive the bad english)

The biggest one was reading that the PC was a child of Bhaal before I'd got that far in BG1. Really ruined my day, that.

Funny, this tread is now a collection of the greatest spoilers!!!
Well, if you're worried about spoilers, here are the solutions:
1)Avoid this forum entirely. I mean, this is the BG2 forum, what
are we supposed to talk about?!?!?!?!?!
2)Let's put the SPOILER signature on every single topic
3)Let's start a new forum named "Bg2 Character Creation Screen"
I myself am very happy of the things I discovered here.
Some surprises surely have been "ruined", but if not, I know,
I would have lost thousands of the game's features!

Finding out your wife Viconia dies by assasination if you choose to remain mortal at the end of TOB. Man, if ever I find the culprit who revealed that, I'll...
I didn't know that, Viconia is my romance, and I'm at the final battle with Melissan which I plan to finish tonight.
Why don't we keep ToB tidbits in the ToB forum? I for one, try to be very careful of revealing any part of ToB in the SoA forum. It's not a big deal but it goes against the very subject of this thread.

yeah i agree with littiz here.... without the forum i would have missed so many things that would make the game just that little bit better. on your own you wont find out too much, however, with the help from others i think that i have gotten most enjoyment and 'thrills' from this game possible. thanx for everyone who helps keeping this forum going and adding their knowledge and time into helping the less 'resourceful' into the game.
however, the responsibility of not getting to know secrets that you shouldnt know or wouldnt want to know is also of the person who doesnt know the ending/spoilers. if you are unexperienced with the game/ havent finished it yet and you dont want to know the end of the game or other spoilers, you should watch out for spoilers yourself too (the poster of the spoiler can forget it sometime too you know. i know they shouldnt, but we are all just humans. except for some of us here

). i mean, you dont just go reading a thread with the name 'is the final battle that easy' or 'what to do when i get at the asylum'. maybe the best thing is when you get your email of membership or something like that, that the email states to you that you should be careful with not getting in the wrong threads and posts. or like the post by buck satan at the top of the shadows of amn site but then directed at all the new gamers with the title 'if this is your first time'. i dunno really, im just saying and stating my ideas. hopefully something can be thought of by other players to ensure everyone gets the fullest enjoyment out of the game.....

I have to admit, i also visit the forum daily,
and i've finished SoA & ToB several times, so i read every thread,
but sometimes the spoiler (most of the times small) are in the title, and you have to read them. And when a good friend of mine was exited when he first encounterd firkraag, i was wondering if I had that feeling, and then i rememberd that i knew he was a dragon even before doing the quest cause on (another) forum someone had put it in his thread title.

hmm, but you are most stupid if you put a spoiler in the title. whats the point of putting in the line spoiler in the title then?

Heh heh. Now you know how I feel.

MY 2 cents
If you notice an unlabelled spoiler - hopefully one which didn't spoil your day - post a reply, or a private message, telling the person who posted it that it was a spoiler and ask them to edit it.
If they don't edit it report it to a moderator.
That's what I do (except for reporting it to the moderator).
I think that more use should be made of the edit button, and if a sticky post 'banning' spoilers is at the top of the forum maybe it should include the advice that you can edit spoilers out or edit in a warning about them. - Curdis !
