The Shadowmaster(Forget Real Name Linvail or something) asked me to kill some opposing guild, which I did. I went to the crypts and killed every last vampire in there, and killed lassal in the spike room. Yet when I go back to talk to Linvail he tells me to go do the quest...what do I need to do, stake lassal? I just thought of this hehe but just in case im wrong ill post topic anyway

Actually......yes, that is exactly what you have to do......stake him in the room with the three coffins and you should get a nifty little surprise....

When you attack the Vampire lair, you will encounter some vampires which after you killed become some gasseous form. In the message log you will see that the gasseous thing retreat to a coffin which should be not far from the place you encounter the vampire. get near the coffin and click the coffin. the click it again ( the message should be saying something about the vampire is dead or something) Caution ! You must have wooden stakes to do this ! The Shadow Master should have give you some and you will find some in the Vampire lair too.
