Well, Demons can get out of control and I don't think you'd want to waste a first level spell on Prot. from Evil, plus they can kill quest neccessary NPCs, so I would go with Efreeti, since they are just Djinni on steroids.

To go off on a slight tanget, WHAT EXACTLY is rhe difference btw Djinni and Efreeti. I may just be stupid, but I ahven't found it in the game...

i wouldn't go with any of them...use your lvl 6 spell for something else and stick with lvl 5 animate dead.

If you want a summon for fighting melee, definetly go for Animate Dead (fifth level), this will free up a seventh level slot for something else, like spell sequencer.

However, if you really need a seventh level summon spell go for summon hakeshar, its the best spell in the game for taking out other mages and can take a whole lot of beating from melee characters (this assumes you haven't already gotten summon nishruu).

N00bie question: How do you summon skele warriors?

I hope your not being sarcastic...

*slight spoiler ahead*

You use the spell animate dead and it summons 1 to 3 or so skeletons to serve you, at lvl 15 these skeletons change into much more powerful skeleton warriors. You get one skeleton warrior per summon and they have high magic resist, damage, and hp.

And on Efreetis and Djinns, their spell selection is different (if I remember correctly), Efreetis are fire based while Djinn are air based. In game they seem to have about the same effectiveness since I'm not one to use their spells too often, only thing that sucks is that they like to turn hostile on you at bad times.

I wouldn't take any of them. Use the Bottle of Efreeti from the Genies in Trademeet (by killing them). Efreeti do a fair amount of damage but aren't overwhelmingly sturdy.

Consider getting Mordenkainen's Sword instead. It's (almost) impossible to kill and does decent damage. It's my favorite summon for soloing dragons and the like--even Cacofiends get killed too quickly. (Wizard Eye also works well in tough battles.) Beware--the sword can be charmed/dominated.

Mordenkainen's sword can be damaged by Cloudkill.

Actually you can pick pocket the bottle from the genie guarding the tent...

Not if you're a solo sorceror.

My favorite way to kill Mordenkaien's Sword: sacrifice it at the altar in the underdark, the one that asks for the animal sacrifice.
