Kiser's secret jail key?

Ehm...exactly what does this key do? And another thing - there's a secret trap/switch on the floor in Kiser's home level 2...once the trap has been disarmed, it says something about some muffled sounds you hear...exactly where do those sounds come from? I can't find anything "secret"...pleeze help me out...
