Hammers and Druids

I checked out the weapons available to Druids, and it looks like the hammer is unavailable to Druids. Can anyone confirm this? I don't see why a druid should not be able to use the war hammer. Hopefully someone has tried this. I would like to give Jaheira the Crom Faeyr.

Thanks in advance.

generally druids choose to use only wooden weapons. Don't ask me why they can use scimitars though :p

Spears and daggers as well. They aren't beastmasters

Well that's pretty unrealistic. I'll have to check the official AD&d rules on that....... I always thought druids could pretty much use any and all cleric type weapons. I just realized since she is a multiclass would that not allow her to specialize in the hammer or even a mace???

Thanks

Simply because, like one said, it cannot be of metal but from nature...
Simitars are avaible because of desert druids.
Daggers are because its a useful tool (yes a tool) in nature (skin pelts,etc...)...

Knives are useful tools. Daggers are small easy to conceal weapons. If you tried to skin a deer with a dagger you would cut yourself. A knife has one edge and thats all you need unless you want to kill.
