Nalia (Quest hooks questions)

Hi,

I'm playing a Kensai and I just finished cleaning out the trolls in Nalia's Keep. Since I'm eligible to get the stronghold, I don't seem to have the option of keeping Nalia with me in the party if I don't keep the Keep :) . I really want the Planar sphere as my stronghold when I dual to mage, but I also want to do the Nalia subquest about Roenall and the slavers. Anybody have a suggestion on how to keep Nalia without getting the Keep.

If I recall correctly, the Roenall subquest only comes when you get the Keep.

1. If I understand the game logic well then you have no chance. Because your primary class is a fighter (kensai), your stronghold is de'Arnise Keep no matter which class you chose later. Therefore, forget Planar Sphere unless you are able to manipulate global variables in the game, i.e., unless you are about to do things you shouldn't do.
2. Roenalls will pester you only if you have the Keep as your stronghold. You cannot have both Planar Sphere and Roenalls.

Not right enough. First, you may have both if you haven't the Kevin's one stronghold patch. There were some large threads before discussing the matters, go and see.
I foresee problems, though, if you get stronghold before you dual and regain the kensai status. I fear they might miss to recognize you, my Lord ;) However, i do not know for sure.

You may left it lay for a while, there is a way to return to this later. I prefer, though, to finish the Keep even before leaving for the Spellhood. Some good exp. together with the Fail of Ages and some minor things (not least is one more temple).

One more thing - SPOILER WARNING

If you have Jaheira, have Baron Polter (or what was his name) done, or you will be brought into it with Nalia out of your party. Their ways are crossing in the Docks District (in inn, to be more specific).

The Baron in Jaheira's curse quest is named Baron Ployer.

About Roenael quest : Is this the quest where guy named Isaea kidnaps Nalia ?

Because if I remember correctly I had this quest when I was playing my clerics so without possibility to gain fighter's stronghold.

If you dual to mage you will be able to get the planar sphere and the keep.

I'm not sure how it is done with the sphere, but I got the thief's guild and the keep. I refused Nalias offer first, than got the guild, than went back and accepted the keep.
Just make sure your fighter class is active when you go to Nalia.

So don't install Kevin's patch fixing strongholds. In other case you will have only one.

You should be right. The Nalia's father furneal triggers the Roenael-son quest. The quest sequence of the Keep contains only Roenael-father. IMHO, the real purpose of the Isaea's quest is to bring you in this inn to meet the Baron if you haven't already. There is not much to do with it otherwise.
