How come my priest and paladin still can't cast?

I'm at chapter three, disbled the anti-magic-field in the Ice Temple, but my Priest and my Paladin both can't cast any spells anymore, no matter how muh I rest or sleep, the ability to cast divine spells is just lost. Can anyone helpl me with this problem?

Is anyone cursed or drained? There was a time when my cleric spells got grayed out, and another when my mage's spells got grayed out...it's fixed now, I'm not sure if it was a bug?

I'm fairly new to 3rd edition, but maybe their wisdom got lowered below 11? Or perhaps they're multiclassed characters who have something equipped that cancels the spellcasting ability?
You could try to load an autosave or previously saved game, and try again. It may be a bug that only pops up once.

No, it is none of these problems. When I entered the Ice Temple, My divine magic was blocked. I solved the problem with the anti-magic shield (the paladin that was a prisoner there could cast at that time) but now my divine characters still can't cast.

The 'Paladin Prisoner' that you're talking about is likely not a Paladin. If that person's name is named Nathaniel, then he's a Druid.

Could you please tell me how you fixed that? I currently have a thief(3)/fighter(4)/illusionist(9) who can't cast a single spell. Not even his innate abilities!
This is very annoying, because his main class is now basically useless. Thank god he's not a pure mage...

I found out that the armor my character was wearing didn't allow spellcasting, even though it didn't say so in the armor description. I imagine more armors have this 'problem', but I don't know if that only counts for arcane spellcasting.

Trust me, it should only count for Arcane spellcasting.

I know it should only count for arcane casting, but that doesn't automatically mean that it actually does. Anyway, I don't even think that it should count for arcane casting. I can imagine that casting a spell in armor would be difficult, but that's what spell failure and armored arcana is for. Besides, it isn't in the armor description that you can't cast arcane spells. And this is also the case with only a few armors.

arcane spells dont have spell casting failure...
divine spells have that casting failure...
get newest patch and start over...

oops.. well it seams that i got those things all wrong then... divine dont have and arcane has then...
take armor of your wizard...
