Problem with proj.image/shapechange!

Hi every1 , i just registered myself, and would like to ask u ppl something that has been buggering me for some time..

I play currently Solo Sorcerer(lvl28) and i am currently in the Underdark.
When i cast Chain contingency (Myself/helpless/Project Image x3) and after that cast another project image thus triggering my contingency--->getting
4 copies of me. And after that i cast the usual buffs + Shapechange, and lastly Tenser`s transformation with all of my copies(<--IN THIS ORDER!!) and referring to other post`s this should get me 4x MindFlayer with good THACO+Hitpoints,etc...
BUT somehow after Tenser, i cant use my abilities!
i have newest patch, so could that be the reason for that combination not to work? :(
I would appreciate any responses :)

Ps: Where can i download some mods? (i mean new NPC,s,etc..)

Well, all you have to do is google npc add ons, heres the names of the most popular: Valen, Solafein, Tashia, Chloe, and some others, google their name and you should find them.

Well im no expert but i dont think projected images can attack so tensers is useless. So im assuming that u cant use special abilities either. Use Sirculam (no idea how to spell it). Im pretty sure thatll work. ;)

Simulacrum. Basically creates a duplicate mage, although not ALL of your spells are his to..

EDIT: or w/e class is usin the helm of vhailor.

many ppl here has posted that allthough image descript says it cant attack, it CAN attack when shapechanged!!(try if u wont believe me) AND it should shapechange after tenser because those shapechange skills is applied under "skills" button..
so should i edit some file in the game or what?

Or..

Project image with spell immunity (divination)? so it cant be dispelled,or true-sighted..

that should work...in my experiments, however, i don't use tensor's transformation at all, since i rarely pick that for my sorc...


project image, improved haste, and shapechange is what i used when i originally wrote up this naughty cheese...
:confused:

i don't know if its a bug, or just a game engine issue..sorry...but at least until you get to spell hold, if you have draw on holy might, that should increase strength enough to get semi-decent thac0... ;)

Hmm..

Ya, i think i should just go for impr.haste..do i have to take boots of speed off to get that IH work? :eek:

That Draw upon holy thing, is a thing i should use more frequently..i have never even thought to use it! tnx for replies ppl! :D

And after i have finished my "cheddar" Sorc, do i have to make bard as my main char to play "anti-cheese" game, with challenge and RPG elements?<---
i mean with "elements" things like...umm..well if anyone have played here pencil and paper rpg,s u know what i mean ;) (for example rolemaster,or ADD)

Does any mod add any stories,or new places?and do i get new char images with those mods or is there another site for them?
I have noticed that my current game is bit "easy"..heh.. anyway i think i have to trie to use all available spells with different tactics etc..to get possibly new "dimensions" to gameplay..i readed that "bunny-nuke" thingie :D :D :D THAt was fun !! Anyway i dont want get bored with this game as i did with Diablo2...(after getting 18 HC-chars in closed b.net to lvl 90+ game get bit bored.. :p )

Well anyway i hope good gaming to every1 here!

No, IH overwrites the boots effect, IIRC - free action is the only spell incompatible with IH, AFAIK.

Bards can be pretty cheesy, too. How cheesy (or otherwise) your play is, is up to you. I don't have a clue what you're referring to in "elements" - I think probably most of have played PnP games, so do you want to be a little less cryptic?

Yes, some mods are total conversions, replacing the entire story. Other MODs add new NPCs, new quests, new fights (Ritual & Eclipse), etc. as well as new weapons, classes, spells, etc.

Tenser's Transformation:

Disables all spell-casting for the duration of the effect, as clearly explained in the spell description. Rightly so

Douh..

So i mean with "elements" that in game u just dont powergame all the time..Could find a class that would be less "best of the best of the best,Sir!!"

A Bard cheesy? well can u explain how? :p i think that Bard is allmost only class that doesnt suit well for singleplay..but as some ppl has said bfore, gamedesigners meant this game to be played with party :)

Maybe i really should install some mods that makes game more difficult, and start good party without the usual (Jaheira, Keldorn, Aerie,etc..The "cheese NPC,s")
OR i could allways take Keldorn or Sarevok to my party but as MULES,Stripping them of armors,and weapons, only meaning of carrying my stuff :D (would be funny sight to see Mighty Keldorn, defender of Righteousness, and all that is good carrying big pile of stuff like mules does :D

So if i install that mod that makes bosses, and places as "enchanted", is there any risk that my savegames comes corrupted or anything?
I thought that starting a char that would be like "Entreri" would be Assassin..but Asn doesnt get more than 1 or 2 proficency slots on weapon specializiation? And Ranger gets 4 or 5? so it would be impossible without editors to get an Assassin-opportunist wich has 4-5 in 2-weapon fight, and 4 in weapons choosed?

Yea the spell descript in Tenser reads as above, but skills isnt calculated as spells IMO..so it has to be a bug..(correct if i m wrong)

When i start a new char in Tob, and import that one in Soa it gets to start as 14 lvl(or was it 17), and only downside in it is that some places has multiple monsters generated such as liches, and A.golems..is that cheating?

for cheesy bards, one tactic is to cast mislead like 4 times, and have all images use improved song... your bard becomes a juggernaut.

Heh..

Well, RP is up to you - and something one doesn't really need help, with, since it's largely self-refereed. Discussion here tends to focus on tactics, cheese and other more munchkin-esque topics.

The main cheesy opportunities for Bards relate to their F/M-ish nature, combined with some unique skills. The definitive guide to cheese is User Unfriendly's The Hero's Guide to A Successful Adventure, which, unfortunately, I do not have a current link for. That, plus Xyx's spell guide, will set you right up.

wait just a frikking minute here...

ok, if you have more special abilities buttons than the norm, like 16-18 of them, i can't remember exactly, you run out of space to put them...so the game engine automatically adds an arrow button at the right hand side, and hides them and puts them into the next page...kinda hard to explain, but see if you can find a special ability button that looks like an arrow, and click on it... :)

Umm..

I do have that "arrow" u speak of, and i did push it, as it shows more skills my char has at that moment, but it wont still work. I cant use ANY ability when tensered(wich should be told in spell descript) but i can live without it :)
It is just that those Illithids are pretty useless without that xtra THACO.. :(

But i am referring to cheese in txt above, so i think i just try to give it up :D
So if i install mod, i can still play original story/places?

Yes

It does disable both spells and abilities..spells goes "dark" that shows u cant use them while tensered..but abilities remains normal looking, and when i push any ability button while tensered, my char kinda "moves" a bit like he would actually do some "move" but then he calms down and acts normally, like i never gave any order..none skill works..and they arent "darkened" like spells are..so IMO they SHOULD work..

Is there any mod out there that allows the generation of Drow-character?(including possible skills and the way he/she looks like..like Solaufein looks..drow u know ;)
