The Great SYM Summer Barbecue

The idea for a SYM summer BBQ came up a couple ago while BS and I were chatting on MSN, and now seemed a good time to open it ;)

So, imagine a lush park setting.... The grass is soft, verdant and pesticide free. Large shade trees, like oaks and weeping willows are abundant. Slightly off to one side a clear river flows and gurgles. The river has a series of deep pools that are perfect for swimming and cooling off in. Further downstream the river becomes ideal for fishing.....

Somewhat away from the shaded area, a sweeping grassy expanse lends itself to frisbee, catch, volleyball and any other games people wish to indulge in... ahem... :p

Now to perhaps the most important part. The Barbeque has been fueled by hickory-smoked applewood, and the embers now maintain a perfect cooking temperature as they wait for steak, ribs, chicken, salmon, vegetarian burgers, beef burgers, marinated eggplant, sweet peppers, onions and zucchini. A table to the side positively groans with salads of every variety, a large selection of breads, cheeses and deli meats....
And... another equally large table is stacked high with coolers and kegs. We have beer, wine, Turkey, Tequila, and pretty much any form of alcohol people could desire.

For those who prefer not to imbibe there is tea, coffee, juice and soft drinks.

So saunter on up, grab a plate and the beverage(s) of your choosing and enjoy the chance to chat, hang out, re-acquaint yourselves with old friends, while getting to know new ones ;)

First to wander over gets a prize, the nature of which is yet to be be determined :D

*places cook hat*

Okay, now, time to roll some Brazilian churrasco here... Nothing against that BBQ of yours, but our Churrasco is pure rock n roll.

Take some bull meat, stick it over the fire with the right mix of flavours - and voilá - churrasco.

Give me some salt, a few t-bones, bull ribs, picanha, and lemon.

Oh, and lemmon, sugar and vodka, rum, cachaça or tequila to prepare the Caipirinha.

DW, you are invited to taste the first piece that gets ready.

*start the fire, and start salting the meat*

I've got work to do...

(Veeery nice Idea, DW)

Thanks Luis :D Indeed, please set up your BBQ, we'll hopefully need as many cooking areas as we can get, it will be fun to try them all out, and that sounds very tasty

*grabs a beer and goes to dip toes into the river* ;)

Of coure, milady, I'll help you as I can.

Now, if you want to dip your feet on the water, go a bit further ahead, and try this pool:

Or, if you want to relax, and rappel some after lunch, I'd recommend this place, called Guartelá, check it out:

Nice place that first you are showing, nice indeed. Where is it? :)

There are many NPC's all around the barbeque site...and being the beggar I am, I politely ask for change. I am declined on every occasion, and my BBQ disposition has gone down to 20, making my charisma rolls significantly higher towards PCs. I am hated at the BBQ. Effectively staying out of sight, I make a Stealth check, and succeed. I run out to gather wood, and I quickly go to work behind the bushes.

Within minutes, I use a sucessful Crafting check to erect a giant signpost, etching the name "GameBanshee BBQ" in pure gold. The sign's aura gives me a +10 charisma fortification, and all is well again.

I promptly make a dive for the BBQ, and use a Dexterity check to grab a burger. I fail. The grill burns mommy, oh how it burns.

Very nice Luis, plenty of swimming areas here, lol! Though we'll be in trouble if Gwally or BS venture by, they'll probably want a naked hot tub party...

Those shots I posted are from Kentucky and Tennessee, I found them at http://www.webshots.com, they have some great photos there.

@ Psi_RedEye22,
lol! :D No need to worry, I'm sure there is a healer about here somewhere, but in the meantime I have some cooling gel that should help the burn, oh and getting a drink should prove less hazerdous so help yourself :)

*CM walks out of the bushes, dressed in a Spetnatz outfit with an AK-47 and his trusty "twins"* :D

*Gwally takes off his clothes and dives into DW's verdant pond...*

Woo hoo!

*Does a few laps, dives to the bottom, splashes a few party goers...*

Okay, now I'm ready for a Sonoran Hot Dog! :D

Damn Gwally, just beat me to skinny dipping. I was sure I'd be first. Now I'll wait a while.

My DW, you've created heaven. How impressive. Now if you'll excuse me, I've a cow to eat. :D

@Gwally, lol! See I just knew you'd be amongst the first to be indulging in nudity, and the hotdog sounds damn tasty incidentally :D
I think you splashed me too, oh well I was planning on cooling off anyway !

@CM, would you like your bunny BBQ'ed or raw? :p

@Ned,
Does that mean you are going to dig us a bonafide BBQ pit too!

I'm out now, so the pond is all yours, Ned! :D

Sorry about spashing you, DW. My, that's rather thin material in that t-shirt you're wearing!

CM: I've been known to make a rather good peanut sauce that goes great with BBQ'ed rabbit! ;) Its a Peruvian classic!

Well Gwally, it is summer afterall, I don't want to overheat by wearing excessively thick cotton :D Besides, I'm wearing a bikini top beneath the Tshirt... :p

You guys never change! :p
How are you all? :)

Now, Ned, you know Ysh never wears a dress, we have been through that topic!

Yeah, I know, but I used an inside joke to discourage newbie's from treading on the BBQ. Unless of course they have money, cuz you don't eat for free if you haven't paid your dues. :p

Oh sure, if you're not wearing a dress I'm not to be wearing anything at all! Hey, that sounds like a good idea.

It is lovely, btw, that I caught you while dropping by.

Sounds fair to me! Also, Georgi, BS and Weasel doing the Time Warp - classic! :D Anyhow less of the reminiscing! We need to start some new rumours, who shall we pick on? Luis seems a good sport! :p :D ;)

What? you going already?? :(
