What happened to Freeze?

I'm in the Dark Forest and my Freeze isn't working. The monsters look frozen, but they continue to battle (whether that's moving towards me b/c they're melee or range attacking). I've been to this area before and successfully used Freeze. What's going on here?

I've no idea. That's never happened to me, and I played through twice. Not meaning to insult you, but could be there be more monsters there than you think? Due to the limitations of the 2D graphical engine, I've seen as much as four monsters looking like one. Using Freeze only hits one at a time, and the others kept fighting--thiough the monster graphic was the frozen one.

It's definitely not working. I've tried different things, including freezing the only monster in the area. This is really anoying. There seem to be so many bugs in this game. I don't know if reinstalling would help...maybe I'll contact Larian.

I've found only a few bugs in the final, patched release of Divine Divinity--but by all means, post up on Larian's forums about this.

I reinstalled the game, and the problem still exists. I emailed Larian and haven't heard back yet. It's really disappointing because I shaped this character with Freeze as a strategy, and now it's useless to me.

Let me ask you this: what monsters won't Freeze when you try?

Any monster that has frozen up to this point now will not. In the Dark Forest, the lizards (warrior...not mage, which never froze) where I've been since this started. Actually, my Freeze started behaving like this when I started killing the evil dwarves in the dwarven halls (or whatever that region is called). At first I thought that maybe those monsters (which were obviously new at that point) were designed to act like that. But...no.

Definitely sounds like data corruption. You might also check Larian's boards for any previous mention of a similar problem using their search engine, but frankly I've never heard of it, before.
