armor question

I've just started chapter 2 and am fairly new to the game, but I was wondering why my halfplate only adds 6 to my AC instead of the promised 7?
Come to think of it, if it cancels all dexterity bonus, then I get it.

Plus, is the 2.01 the only patch? Was stuff like inventory transfers not recognizing 3 rows of inventory never fixed?

And why is my monk so useless?

well that armor thing.. i realy dont know but if you dont have feat or minus dexterity that could affect thing... monks suck at beging of game and later in game they do little damge... but monk will get almost immortal....

With Monks, you need patience. Later in the game they'll be running around in a ridiculously fast way, almost impossible to hit with anything, immune to poison and things akin to that, getting large attack bonuses, lot's of attacks per round and doing more damage with their fists than possible with a greatsword. Also they gain the ability to heal themselves and turn ethereal. A brilliant class, but only later in the game when they're more experienced. Much more interesting than fighters, anyway.

Err, I don't think their fists do more damage than greatswords, but anyway.

You probably only get +6 AC, because the max dex bonus of your armor is one lower than your natural dexterity bonus. And I think 2.01 is the only official patch.
