Help with 2nd wraithgaurd

My friend showed me how he has 2 wraithguards and he told me to get the second one I had to kill vivic. So I followed the guide on this site on how to kill vivic, take the artifact to tel fyr, and everything else including having over 215 hp (I had 265). So I had the dwarf activate wraithguard but when I equipped it my health immediatly went down to 10/10. I went to a previous save and tried it again and it went down to 4/4. Is there any way to equip without my health permanently dropping very low or if not is there a way to bring it back up to where mine was at 265? The guide made it sound like it just hurt me and and could just sleep or something to bring it back; not that my health would be permanantly decreased.

Nope, unforutnely thats the only way you can equip it, I guess you can use the console, I'm assuming if you killed vivec with that few hitpoints you had god mode enabled, in which case you won't have an objection to player->sethealth 265 after Wraithguard is equipped.

Actually I didn't use god mode to beat him. I just didn't get hit by his attacks.

Nice. I can only dodge for so long before I get bored and charge at him with a longsword. Usually the end for me....

i dabbled in alchemy a bit and had a 500 potions hta trestore 20 for 40 or so seconds.... so i quaffed like 10 of those and figured one of use would be dead in 40 seconds, and I was the one with a sweet sword and reflect armor. I had a bit of a tantrum when he didnt give me anythign for killing dagoth ur and just bragged about how he never took his godhood seriously anyway... so i killed him. then i realized i still didnt get anything (didnt know about second wraithguard... whats that all about?) and realized that I liked him and he was one of 2 poeple who believed me. argh, ill have to rekill him again.

Go read the walkthrough on this site and one of the sections towards the bottom tells you how to be the main quest the quick way. If you do what it says after you've already beaten the main quest you can get a second wraithguard to wear on your left hand.

or not the quick way, but the only way, if caius hates you
