Mage Stronghold

My mage stronghold quest seems to be stalled. I've had the graduation ceremony, and each of my mages survived. I've been playing for awhile since then, though, and nobody has come to tell me to come back to the sphere. Is there any special trigger that I'm missing?

I've always thought it was overrated, because I usually just sell potions anyway, but one of them should come back and offer to be your personal potion-maker. He was waiting for me when I came back from the underdark, but that was weeks after the graduation. I don't know how long he was waiting for me.

I have another problem with mage stronghold quest.
I am running BG2 for second time. First time I had no problem with mage stronghold quest.
Now I am making the quest for the second time. I almost finished the quest and start the engine using the demon heart.
But when I came back to Lavok he was gone! And Valygar said something like: "finally Lavok is dead...". And I can not finish the quest
What is the problem?? Why is he dead/gone??

When you first talked to him, did you agree to take him outside to die?
I always have, so I'm not sure what happens if you don't ... but I'd imagine he'd just die inside the sphere, which sounds like what you're describing. If you open your journal, does it should it as an open quest? or a closed one?

That's strange. Because it doesn't show as either a closed or open quest!
And when I later talk with the knights they only walk away and out of the sfere?
And yes i agree to take him outside

If its any consolation, I have had the mage stronghold bug on me twice now. Once was the same as you with nobody showing up after graduation. The other time Lavok talked to Jaheira after I started the engine and he teleported her outside while I stayed inside. When I tried to move either of us I received 'you must gather your party...'.
