Do Bards get "Use Any Item"?

I'm thinking about paying a skald who will (eventually) weild Carsomyr. I thought that would be pretty cool.

Out of curiousity, how does that ability work anyway? I've never played a thief or bard long enough to get HLAs.

Yes, bards get UAI.

Are you gonna solo or play with a Party? If you want a party, you should install Revised HLAs from BG2 Refinements. Skalds get more suited abilities. (Improved Skald Song just own :P )

UAI is limited by other constraints, like if you don't have enough STR you won't be able to use a weapon. Is there an alignment constraint with Carsomyr which might affect it?

Cool. I was trying to kit him out with that killer halberd but he didn't have the STR for it.
