Familiar query???

If when a mages familiar dies the mage loses 1 point of constitution permanantly. Could you simply keep summoning and killing familiars to get the mages constitution below 0 and round to the high end, say 25. Has anybody tried this???

If your constitution reaches zero you'll die, so you'll need an item that sets your con to a fixed amount (like the Ring of Human Influence does for charisma and Crom Faeyr does for strength).... I'm not sure if the Girdle of Fortitude qualifies for that since it's a magical effect...

What if

I can't remeber from memory but are there any pieces of equipment a mage can use that adds 2 or more to constitution, assuming there was and you had it equipped, you could go down to 1 constitution then remove said item which would in theory drop constitution below 0. I'm to into my current game to start again with a mage just to try this. But if anyone else has the time/patience to try this it's an interesting idea.

you can only summon one familiar per game.

if you're going to all the trouble just to get good stats, why not just use shadowkeeper?

But if your familiar dies you can summon a new one, can't you ?

nope. been there, done that. i was in a multiplayer game, changed my PC and couldn't summon a familiar because one had 'already been summoned' regardless of the fact that it wasn't around anymore.

you could try cluaconsole and creating the familiar as an item, picking it up and then releasing it.

Just tried it, if your familiar dies you can summon another. I guess it was because of the importing that it didn't work for you.

As I recall, you lose a point of Constitution permanantly if your familiar dies.

you can click on the link he left in his sig. However I do believe the last update was from before his vacation. He must be close to the end of SoA. And I would like to see how he handles the improved Jonbon.

Well I tried to test this on an old save game. SK'ed the Con to 1 to make it easy. Tried it with the Belt of Fortitude and Draw Upon Holy Might. Killed a couple (2-4) familiars to test it out. I died every time when the effect wore off.

If anyone has any other ideas, items that will raise Con by more than one while worn, let me know. Otherwise, it doesn't seem to work.
