Bard Song - Siren's Yearning

I've just got this Bard Song, which sounds pretty srtong - it's supposed to entrall everyone who fails a will save for either 10 rounds or until hit, does anyone know how this works?

What is the DC of the song?
Does Charisma modifier apply?
What is the area of effect?
Does it affect monsters or animals that may not understand the bard?
Does Spell resistance apply?
If my bard keeps playing it every round, do they have to save every round?

I'd really like to get the most out of this Song as it sounds really good, but so far I'm not getting much in the way of results from it!

I don't know the DC of the song, but I think it is the same as with spells. So the charisma modifier would then apply. I don't know what spell level this song would be considered though.
The manual says the area of effect of a bard song is 30ft unless otherwise noted.
I suppose some enemies are immune to this, but I don't think animals and the like are.
Spell resistance probably doesn't apply, since it's not really a spell.
If your bard kees playing, your enemies will probably have to save every round.

Wow that would make him VERY strong. A reusable global sleep effect with a 30 ft radius that recasts every round and bypasses Spell Resistance! Throw on Eagles Splendor to up your Charisma I'm about to hit the jungles of chult so I'll give it a try. If it works in this way I will have to change my combat strategy a little, start playing the song, then have some one else Sanctuary or Invisibility the Bard and walk him into a group of nasties. Once enthralled get the rest of the group to wail on one opponent at a time while the rest watch!

Well, I don't know if it works like that. I pretty much just guessed. I would be surprised however if it indeed turns out to be that powerful. I imagine a lot of enemies will be immune or something...

That wouldn't work on enemies with high Will saves, so don't think this would work on the twins. :D

I'm not certain, 'tis just an idea, but would your bard not play the song, the enemies make a will save and fall asleep if they fail it, and then remain asleep for ten rounds, and the song would start again. Would the song not repeat every ten rounds. That would make more sense game balance wise and also to add to realism as surely the song would not last a mere six seconds, but rather one minute, considering a round is supposed to be six seconds long?
Just a thought anyway.

It might be more realistic, but I still don't think that is how it works. Besides, if it worked that way, you could start over singing over and over, because the enemies will drop as soon as you start your song.

I was thinking more along the lines of the Bard playing the song, the enemies make a will save, the ones that fail it fall unconscious. The Bard carries on playing for 10 rounds and the enemies who have failed their saves remain asleep. But if you were to move the bard or tell him to do something else then they wake up? I don't know, I've never played a bard to a high level.

well bards are most cheesy classes in this game... espesially with linggerine song feat... but i have never seen sirens yearning work... 11 lvels of bard and rest levels something else... and you are able to melee whole game...

I don't think bards are a cheasy class. You could abuse them to make them cheasy, but I think they'd be underpowered without that Lingering Song feat. There should just be something that instantly disables that feat as soon as a new song is started, or something.

Hey whats gang?? I have some queries on the bard I'd like resolved. I've played a multiclass or duel class bard/ranger. I think she was like 16th in each or so. (after Heart of Fury). Just wondering do you get any additonal songs at higher levels? (higher than 16th)? Also I hear alot about the "lingering song cheese" . Does this mean you can have multiple songs going at once?? Stacking any bonuses?? Also what are some cool songs and how maney are there?? I only remember using one in particle. Thanks

well... if you have lingerine song feat.... hit pause and start singing... firts song can be used 20 times... luck song if you use 8d waepons then 8 times and sith (last song) it can be sang 40 times and this means AC over 100+

there are no bard songs after level 11

when you pause the game game stops rigHT? if you have lingerine song feat you can keep singing while game is stopped so you can have multible bonusses like +20 damage and attack rolls and AC over 100....

but down side is that this thing takes time.... and it only lasts 2 combat rounds...

well that thing only makes bards usefull char... and cheats are like ctrlaltdelete:something() but brads song thing is just bad programming thing? or perhaps black isle planed it to be like that... who knows? if you were part of IWD2 creators copuld you tell more about it?

Yeah, the programmers probably meant for players to start singing the same song over and over and thus becoming gods for two rounds...

It's still cheating. Taking advantage of a glitch is still classed as cheating ye wazzock.
