Hi I have Kotor on X-box and today I got it free on PC will buying DOOM 3 so I was wondering if I sould play it on PC or does it to much similar to the X-box version ? I know there the Yavin space station but is that enough ? And I was wondering since a don't have X-box live what are the new dowlaod content on X-box ?

Personally I prefer the PC version because the interface and controls are easier to use, but the game content is the same (always allowing for Yavin). It's up to you.

If it was'nt for Yavin I'd say go for the Xbox version simply because your xbox version is less likely to crash which then proceeds to completely wreck your registry, forcing you to fork out 30 quid getting Dell to fix it..........I didn't sound at all bitter then did I?

It happened a few times, but when you're running XP pro you learn to expect the odd game crash.
If you have'nt already I'd get the patch as that helps a fair bit. Hopefully service pack 2 should go someway toward making XP more stable and game friendly though that may be wishfull thinking

Crash a lot? No, not really. There is a memory leak though which means I have to restart the game at least once a day.
Kidding aside, the startup copyprotection is a hangs really bad somethimes, the game initially crashed rarely, somewhat more during the last week but the hot weather (cpu temp rises to uncomfortable levels) and humidity might have a part in that though. KotOR seems rather stable to me, on Win2K at least.

I have a problem where sometimes savegames don't load and you have to restart your computer. Around 15 of them usually before I complete the game.
Once when you recruit Trask it said, "I am broken, very very broken." Then it crashed. Now that's just scary

well trask was always that nuts aniways, and u hav to admit that although the Pc version crashes more often the mods are extremely cool
like the one that lets u start the game as a jedi

I'd say, whichever is more convenient for you to play.
KotOR-2 uses basically the same engine as 1, with some tweaks and, I assume, bugfixes. I don't expect it to be radically different as far as stabilty is concerned.

on the pc if you dont have the exact graphics card indicated then when a movie cutscene comes then your game will fail and shut your computer and i have found it is very very glitchy. especcially on Taris were there are so many npcs wandering about

Dunno how it is on the X-box, but I've not had many (if any) major problems with SW:KotOR on my PC.
Maybe I've just been lucky

I had no problems with the PC version, either.

Whats with the PC cinematics being of horribly low quality?

Are you giving us your experience, or reporting what somebody told you? Because the cinematics were perfectly fine on my PC. Even if they weren't, admittedly it wouldn't bother me, since I've yet to find a game where you could actually play cinematics.
But I have to say that they looked just as good as those on the Xbox, and I played both versions.

i've seen a few posts that mention swoop racing on pc can be a bit sketchy. on xbox its as smooth as peanut butter...and thats pretty smooth.

Looked fine on my PC, and that was long before my recent upgrade. But even if it hadn't been smooth, it would only account for a few seconds of gameplay, as compared to an entire game's worth of far greater ease-of-use via the keyboard/mouse on the PC. Just my POV.

Hmm sorry for the lack of detail, but the cinematics look way less graphically advanced than the game at 800X600. it looks more like 640X480 (I believe thats the lower resolution) (And by the way i never say the x box version
)

The cinematics are heavily dependent upon your video card. Which one are you using, and how much RAM have you got?

512 RAM
NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X (64MB)
I have no problems running the game at 1028X1012 (Hmm is this the better one after 800 X 600?)
Also the eyes of the characters in the cinematics look rather "unnatural," sometimes you can't see all the details.
