When I enter Nashkel mines (the actual mine not the map zone called Nashkel Mine) the game autosaves, starts loading the area then crashes to the desktop every time. I cannot proceed.

I get an error message that says:

"An Assertion failed in D:\BGSourceUpdate_TOTSC\dev\Baldur\Infinity.cpp at line number 1707
Programmer says: Demand for WED file failed"

Help Please!!!!!

I am using the Original Saga btw

Got the latest patch?

Maybe try a reinstall of the game.
And make sure you patch it.

I was under the impression that you didn't need to patch the "The Original Saga" version, which I just recently purchased. Is that wrong?

If so, can someone please tell me which patch, specifically, I should use? I know about this page: http://www.gamebanshee.com/baldursgate/downloads.php

on this site with the list of patches, but I wouldn't know which to use.

Mmm, am not sure, I'll leave this one to someone else.
If you DO need a patch, check bioware
