I'm thinking of joining the faction with the persian guys. I'm wondering if any faction gets anything special, or if one is any better than the other. Thanks.

That faction doesn't count towards the quest. You need to join:

• Templars
  Warders
  Theives
  Beggars

I've only ever done the Knights Templar. However, i've heard the Thieve's Guild is the most rewarding, because you're constantly given little quests with rewards throughout the game.

the four major factions are:
Inquisition
Knight templars
Wielders
Dark wielders

You can only join 1 major faction (I joined the templars), i think the one with most quests are templars and inquisition.

You can join the minor factions without fear of interfering with your major faction, so do the thieves/beggars, order of saladin as well to get more goodies.

i suggest the wielders... the knights chang your name slightly and that sucks for exporting and stuff.

the templars benefits are probably the best ones... specially in melee tipe characters

in order to change name after exportation. go to the multiplayer screen. bottom right hand corner choose your latest character then click on the name of your character and change it. then after that host a game. and export during your time in the multiplayer lobby and you should find that you characters name has been changed.

Knights of saladin are one of the minor factions.

Read. When you talk to the Knights of Saladin, you get a message that they are *not* a faction, and joining them will *not* complete DaVinci's quest.

When you talk to DaVinci he will actually tell you what factions you can join.

I always choose Templars, cause you get good modifications and cool shield (best in the game it seems) but I also join noble Saladins Wielders have loathsome cloths and Inquisition is part of the Church which I dislike.

You get some nice little perks for joining Knights of Saladin, but, as has been said, it doesn't count as a Faction. I always joined Knights of Saladin.

Of the Factions - well it depends rather on your character. If you are a mainly fighting type then Templars are for you.

If you don't mind joining the Inquisition (and I could never do do that without abandoning the game and starting over - my principles wouldn't let me, lol! Have you seen their dungeons?), they are quite good.

If you are principally a magic type, then the Wielders are good. I almost always joined Wielders.
Dark Wielders: you get the opportunity to join while doing regular Wielder quests. BAD guys!

It is also useful to join either the Beggars or the Thieves.

Doing non-Faction stuff helps your character level up, after all.
