I am just taking my time throught BGII because I want it to last!! I am on day 92 or 93 and lolligagging in the Druid Grove with Cernad about to pounce on Faldorn...I was bustin my butt trying to get through this faster, but its my first time through any BG game and I decided to just take it slow. I gained a level or two and am feeling better about going to take on Irenicus. I have read all sorts of tips and cheats and it hasn't hurt my fun at all! Any others going slowly?

Sit back, relax, and enjoy this fantastic game. Rest every time you want, don't worry about time. I don't really understand people running through this game.....but it's a personal opinion.

Edwin is 125% correct. The important thing is to just enjoy yourself. Look around, check out all the interesting nooks and crannies, talk to folks, do whatever you want. I'm on my fourth run-through, and I'm still enjoying the thing just for its endless variety.

I have both sped through the game and taken my time. I enjoyed taking my time far more than rushing through it. Do what you like best. To me, the NPC interractions are awesome and I like going through with different combinations of characters seeing how they'll react under different circumstances. This means you take your time, go through the game at a normal pace, and see how they'll respond to eachother.
I understand the challenge of speeding through, but I'd advise people to take their time the first few times playing the game.

I agree with you all to a certain extent. However, I think that taking over 150 days is somewhat ridiculous (my opinion) I took my time and beat every quest that I know of in the game, and I still finished in 99 days. What are you doing that could take 200+ days?

What can you do in so long a time? Rest, drink dwarvin ale at the pubs...chat with the locals...look in all nooks and crannies...try out various scenarios...e-mail friends...chat on line in forums...stuff like that!! Really though, maybe 200 days seems like alot but unless you are of the judgemental class of warrior don't let it bother you! Me? Chaotic Good.

Well, how about 273 days (kensai/mage (7/19, yes, removed), Minisc 19, Jaheira (15/15), Arie (15/14), Nalia (19), Iomen (16))? Now at second Covled Wizards' quest after Planar Sphere, then have to choose between Bodhi and demilich

Receipt? It's easy. Travel a lot, do not try to do everything in the area at once, take most hard task available to raise in level, then game will ensure there will be matching opponents for the rest, too. Visit areas, where monsters tend to respawn, rather often. Dungeon of Windspear Hills is a good example. Haven't been lately, however, at least while there was a quest left, there was also new and harder fights with new monsters (if you leave and return to Windspears). There is a room with a pair of shadows first time. Next time there were more, the third - about a dozen with greater wolfweres on top And yes, you should first reach this room
Of course, i do not like to be ambushed, so scouting takes a lot.
... lawful good, rep 20 (shame, it should be about 25 if not limit

)
