Ignore this--I ended up posting the same problem twice. Look at the thread "yet more problems with the Jaheira romance."

Maybe you and Jaheira were not meant to be

My experiece led me to believe that the bandit attact was necessary. It can only be triggered by resting a short way outside of the dungeon entrance in the North East corner of Windspear Hills. This is IMHO the easiest part of the romance to miss...

odd i find it to always happens in the druid's grove area in my games

Odd... For me, it happened in the Umar Hills, next to the chicken farmers.

Perhaps the location is not consistant after all... that makes it even more complicated. I have only seen one walkthrough that gives a location, and it was as in my game, Windspear. If it's not location, than I am at a loss as to what triggers the event.

It is a time-based cue that can occur anywhere outside Athkatla or Trademeet. Check the thread, "yet more Jaheira romance confusion" for advice on how to jump start the bandit attack if you have J and aren't getting it.

It was you we were trying to help. I take it you succeeded?

so you DO mean the bandit attack where a bandit has a dagger on Jaheira's neck?
