Custom Portraits

I have been trying to get certain custom portriats to work in Icewind Dale, but for some reason they will not show up in the custom portrait area in the game. I have ensured they're both in bitmap form, tryed adjusting the color, and have gone over the pixel mesurements over and over. The two portraits I do have working in the game are exactly the same in pixel measurements and color, but still the other portraits will not show up inside of the game itself. Any advice? Thanks.

Are the files unzipped? I had that problem with my IWD II, and found out I hadn't unzipped the pix, but I had downloaded them from somewhere, I don't know how you obtained yours though.

ok let's bring this extremly annoying issue up front.
what must be done with a chosen pic to make it work as a custom portrait in the game? i've tried everything, it won't work.
