number of attacks

korgan currently has shield and axe and 7/2 number of attacks, keldorn has two-handed sword and 5/2 number of attacks. and when i dualwield my assassin he gets 4. i dont get any of it...
what does the / mean?

That means Korgan gets 7 different attacks over two rounds. Technically, he has 7/2 = 3.5 attacks per round. But it wouldn't make sense to only do a half of an attack. So one round you get 3 attacks and the next you get 4, basically.
This means Keldorn has 2.5 attacks per round (one round with 2, one with 3)

That's for Pen & Paper AD&D. For BG2, if someone has 7 attack/2 rounds, he do 3 attack in Round 1, 3 attack in Round 2, and 1 attack between round 1 & 2.
