Is it only possible for a druid to kill Faldorn (Druid Grove)??
Because i tried with a mage (soloing). In no time i had Faldorn down to "near death". But after damaging him over and over again with spells enough to kill a dragon he still is only "near death"...
I know U must be druid to CHALLENG him, but must u also be druid to KILL him??

Faldorn is invulnerable outside of the ring, because the grove protects her. So yes, to kill her you must first challenge her.

As Vicsun said - you must challenge her to kill her.

However, that doesn't necessarily mean you must be a Druid. If you install the multi-strongholds (I believe it's in Ease-of-Use mod), then anyone can challenge her.

I am playing WITHOUT any modes.
This mean I must have a druid in my party to challenge and kill Faldorn?

Yes, without any mods, you must have a Druid to challenge (and kill) Faldorn. If you don't have one, you'll have to let Cernd join you for that part. Otherwise, you can never finish that quest ...

I just want to add..

<spoiler>
If your Cernd/Jaheira is low level, it'll be pretty hard to kill Faldorn. She'll shapeshift into a black panther with full life after you get her human form to near death. The easier way to win is to have your druid memorize a mental domination spell prior to the duel, then dominate her when the duel starts. She always starts with a summon insect, so you shouldn't have to worry about being interrupted during casting. About 1 in 6 times, her save will fail, so then you can just beat down with her own Animal Summonings.

Just to let you know:
If you dominate her, don't cast her spirit animals. Doing so might make the game crash.

You can cast a Summon Insect or Insect Plague to stop her from casting spells. Then, buff & shapeshift yourself and kill her. You can summon some friends too (Fire Elementals or even a Dryad).

Thanks
@Miser: I just killed him with Cernd (low-level) - it was quite easy :)

Yeah

Un modded Faldorn is easy enough. It's the upgraded version that's rough.

Faldorn is female ;)
She was actually a NPC you could have in your party in BG1

This is her portrait (which is restored to BG2 by the Unfinished Buisiness Mod BTW)

If some of you didn't recongnise her ... she's a NPC (totemic) druid from BG1!

Isn't that what I said 2 posts ago ? :D
Anyway, I'd say the avenger kit fits her chracter much better than totemic druid (though there weren't any kits in BG1, so she was just a pure class druid, btw the only single class druid)

You don't actually have to have Cernd in your party. There is a dialogue option that will allow him to challenge her without joining you. The only downside is that you don't get the experience for killing her, but you do get all the quest experience (which you don't have to divide with Cernd) so it is pretty much a wash. I don't care for druids much so I never let Cernd join my group.
