Death preoccupation....

Is it just me, or do most of these RPG's seem preoccupied with death. I mean, when I first played BG1, it was pretty diverse. Mostly you were fighting with monsters such as Gnolls, Hobgoblins, Kobolds and so on. You would run into undead mostly at night or if you decided to investigate Ulcaster School or the Firewine Ruins, but mostly you were fighting with living creatures. However, BG2, IWD and HoW all seem to be obsessed with crypt crawling, Tomb Raiding, the Dungeon Dead and mutilated undead monsters. I mean, there are more dead people in the Dale than there are living people. To be honest, I'm getting a little tired of Shadowed Orcs, Drowned dead, and Imbued Wights. I prefer to take on foes like Frost Giants, Orcs, Orogs, Gnolls, or even other freaken wizards, just so long as I'm out of the da*nable dungeons!
Any other opinions?

Hmm...I thought there were much more living creatures in IWD then undead ones...

The crypt outside of Kaldahar is filled with undead, yes...but most of the other dungeons have living creatures.

It's true there are a lot of undead, mainly blade skeletons and armored skeletons, but when you think about it, it's normal ain't it? I mean the Spine of the World, an old and harsh area filled with the bones and decaying corpses of old battles, it's normal that a fair bit of dead people are there just BEGGING for a raise dead spell :p ;)

My bad....

Well, maybe I should have finished HoW and the rest of IWD before I started complaining about the makers "obsession with death", because the tomb raiding and undead hordes all seemed to give way to Glacier Yeti, Remorrhaz, Fire Salamandars, Minotaurs, Umber Hulks and Myconids. My bad....
