New Armor Idea

Item is attached.... messed up all the spacing, ya win some ya lose some
I made this item because in the group i am in now i made a character that was truely grotesque and he needed armor badly. he was a tank, he had so much Hp but he had very low Ac. I abused the Book of Vile darkness during his creation so he is very monstrous. Deformity obese, many of the psychological problems, sadist, masochist, yea very f'ed up. It jsut wasnt practical for him to wear metal armor so he has been wearing leather.. And at the upper levels a low dex mod (+0) and leather Armor for a fighter jsut doesnt cut it. So i made this up seems like it would fit and i hope my idea helps out u guys sometime in a Roleplaying/powergaming situation as well!

Nice concept, very creative.
Perhaps you should give it a restriction or two though.
'Wearer' must be evil.
'Wearer' must make a constitution save at the proces for half damage. Damage increases at higher bonuses.
This way you prevent a low level player spending all his money to buy a +10 AC.

yea after i posted this i talked to a couple of my friends irl about this and they pointed at the power gaming aspect of it. My favorite part of d and d is creating new items, campaign settigns and just original ideas but when im creating items and things of the same sort should i take "power gaming" into mind even though thats not how im going to use it. like if u get this armor all the way to +10 than wear regular full plate mail thats 29 ac there natural ekk.. how bout must b evil and you can only wear light armor over it. hows that?

I like the idea, but I have a few suggestions. First, maybe make a better name for it like...leather skin or something that relates to it more. Next, maybe add in a couple of other skill checks for it, like concentration (to not mess up) durning it and heal (to heal back up the burn wound so that it doesn't leave perminent damage) after, but make these checks a little easier to accomplish. Finally, don't restrict it to only evil characters...make it so that only characters with a certain amount of strength can do it at certain levels of the AC bonus. Also, to make it less power player style, have its bonus restricted to people wearing light or no armor.
Well, those are my two cents...hope it helps.

My vote would be ten if you modified it a bit.

I forgot to ask if you would post the finalized version of your natural armor for PCs rule. Thanks.

Thank you, thank you. *bows*
Sounds good, but it could be hard to sell role plying wise.
I mean, why can't he wear heavy armor?
@DeathLich, trying to get your postcount up?

I like your final version! I think that I might actually use it (with a few personal extra restrictions) if you don't mind, that is.
