Hey i was thinking about creating a set of rules regarding that idea of causing genetic mutation in animals through alchemical process. I was thinking like you (the alchemist) pick what you want to attempt to alter and you roll like a d30 or something to see how well you alter it and there is a big chance it dies and there is liek a 95% chance that it wont b fertile. it will be very sketchy but i think it would be cool if i finished it. I got like 5 pages done but im not showing hte public till i get some responses to the idea loll

I think that's a good idea (if it is modern times or with magic), but make a few (very few) of the rolls have side effects that the creator didn't want (like shortened lifetime or constantly deteriorating bones or joints).

Once again those are my two cents...hope it helps. :D

Another creative idea.
Keep the power gaming aspect in mind though. :)

Perhaps these mutated creatures should 'replace' dire animals. They seem to have a lot in commen.

well heres a sample, im planning on making it a huge thing, tons of different physical aspects that you can attempt to genetically alter.

Its kinda tough to understand. but bare with me here and ty for the positive feed back :)

How about some specific animal realted traits?

For example, a dog can retract it's claws and grows bigger teeth.

well my whole idea on things is, lkets say you ahve a dog you would like to try and mutate. First off your like, i want its tail to be longer and functional so you would go down to the "tail" section and roll you dice roll for it swaying your roll by your alchemy bonus to try and get somethat that you want. so i guess it could be animal specific cuz there will be so many options that you just have one for every trait you could want and you just do it piece by piece

So far, Chaositech (Which is a Monte Cook official supplement) is the only book with actual mutations in it.

Spells

I have a pair of spells on my (other) computer that work kind of like this.
Mutate Self and Mutation Bolt.
I haven't had any of my PC's get high enough to use them yet, but in my playtest it worked out fairly well. This seems like a more complex version of the spells I wrote up(or maybe my spells are simpler versions of this...? )
Anyways, I like the idea of this.

It could be like... taking bits and peices of animals and other enemies and breaking them down into potions that can be magically infused into animal bloodstreams and over time the beast begins to mutate to accomidate the change in its DNA structure.

Also maybe you could like... do necromancy, take bits and pieces and sew em together. kill something and get a spell effect (Dont know if it exists) to trap it inside something and put that something in the beast(or watever) and see what happens?
