Hi, I've encountered a bug with Jan's quest. The messenger comes and talks to him, he says he needs to go home, I offer to go with him, we get there, and the right people aren't there. He just keeps saying, "Wee ones, I'm home," (about every 3 seconds) but there's no response on the main floor. I've tried talking to people, but they react as if we're just stopping by to visit. The people on the main floor are the girl (Tat), the mother (Ma Jansen), and a cat. In the basement there is the uncle and the boy (Tot). Now Tot actually will respond to the "Wee ones, I'm home" line, saying something like "Look Ma, Jan's home!" So I take it Tot's supposed to be on the main floor. Unfortunately, after he says that, there's just silence. Jan no longer says his (by now very annoying) line in the basement, but the people there won't otherwise acknowledge the quest. I think the boy, the girl, and the mother all need to be together on the main floor, or everyone's going to miss the cues to speak. From what I can tell, no one else is in the house.

So. There it is. I've read of other people having this problem, but I've never heard of a solution (well apparently someone fixed it by going back to an earlier save, but I've tried with at least 2 different saves, many times, and nothing works.) I love Jan and I don't want to lose him, but unless I can find a way around this, he's going to leave. I could go back and take the option to let him do the quest himself, but from what I've heard, if this bug is occurring, then if I do that, he'll just disappear and never be heard from again.

Technical info: I'm on a Mac, running OS X, and I have ToB installed. This is the first time I've played, and I have no idea how to edit games or anything like that, or even what Mac programs could do that. This is really frustrating and I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could advise me. Thanks for any help you can give!
