Well now that it's out how is it? In all my ignorance I didn't preorder the game, so by the time I got the store after work they were out. One of the stores in my area only got shipped half of their preorders. Someone's pissed. They asked me if I wanted to preorder for tomorrow. This is a little absurb. I think I'm just gonna buy mine online.

From some reviews I have read..the game is good for what it is..
*but it is NOT 50-60 hours of gameplay..more like 20-30.
*quite a LOT of repeating of NPC visuals and voices, meaning that although you can get married, it doesn't really matter which woman you choose since they all pretty much look and sound the same.
*it is pretty linear, and not every choice you make affects the whole game like was said.
*if you fail a quest you immediately start it over again instead of just dealing with what might have happened if you failed a quest in this world.
*you get two ways of saving the game, one is a world save where everything is saved and you load the game from the same point over and over, or there is a hero save which happens during quests..when you save during a quest it saves all the stuff about your character and all that, but when you fail the quest you start over with the stuff of that character..but not where you saved before.
But the game is supposed to be good for what it is. I was really excited about buying the game, but after reading reviews, I may just rent it from Blockbuster when they get it and beat it in one rental-time.

I find people tend to be majorly overly critical of games, nitpicking every error and such... so i am hoping htis is the case now. isnt it great? 2 weeks after i am deported with no xbox, the game i have been wanting for 2 years comes out.

Someone's gotta have something say about the game, unless of course you're all still glued to the screens. I find it hard to believe that much anticipated game such as this has only a handful of posts at release day +1. And none of them are rants/raves from people who've actually played the game.

So far it's pretty fun. Combat is similar to Ocarina of Time, for those of you who have played it.
I can't say I understand where the 12-15 hours to complete comes in from reviews. I suppose you could do that if you wanted to skip all the cut scenes in the game, avoid exploring the realm, and have a strategy guide to tell you where everything is.
I played for about 3 and a half hours last night and have just scratched the surface.

played through the first three or four hours of the game and I barely managed to get out of town. the cut scenes are pretty time consuming and wandering around looking into corners is taking huge amounts of my time. I spent almost twenty minutes just trying to figure out how to flirt and make chicks dig me. of course, since I kept hitting the fart instead of the flirt, it did not work well. I really cannot see that the game would only be about twenty hours unless there is nothing in it to do. just from the four or five quests i was presented at the beginning, i would say there is over 20 hours of gameplay. i am intentionally staying away from any kind of strategy guides and walkthroughs so I am wandering around pretty dumb. I was excited just to go to the first town and be refered to as a "chicken chase." I was thoroughly thrilled when I had gained enough renown or experience or whatever to do the manly hand pump.
i will say that I am not a huge fan of the attack system and I can just not aim the magic very well--maybe the next play through when I get better. for now, I am enjoying the system and seeing what happens when you break the rules. I do NOT like what happens of you fail a quest and I am happy with the saving system. if I can slaughter town guards, I should be able to fail quests and just deal with the circumstances.
so far, anyway, i would say that the game is pretty amusing and a nice addition to my xbox games.

Awsome Game!!!
well as some of you guys that own the game my know, an incase you dont, well overall i think the games is awsome, like every other game it has its flaws, not to many weapons, not much armor, and mainly the core quest, its not very long, actually it is fairly short, about 15 hours id say, i mean i got 10hrs on it and im 75% complete, and the reason why i know im 75% complete is cause my friend passed it already and told me where exactly i was in the game, so for a game that took about 4 years to make, the main quest was not long at all, although you must admitt the game was not as good as it could be, unfortunatelly the xbox could not handle what peter had visioned, which just comes to mind that the reason teh game took to long to make was because of all teh cutbacks he had to make on it, if which more than likely there will be a second part to this or expansion of some sort hopefully it comes out for the xbox 2 which hopefully it can handle what peters dream was, so above everything all the flaws this game in my opinion is the greates real-time rpg ever played

im not really sure what yall were talking about spending 3 -4 hours and hardly getting anythign done, i finished the game in 8 hours up until i finished the game it was fun now there isnt much to do because you cant do any real quest once you finish the last one and i dont really understand what the point in renting out a house is
