is the experience gain limited by the level?

Um, I'm soloing with two characters and they've reached level 14 at the begining of chapter3. But, surprisingly, I've killed lots of winter wolves, great amounts of trolls, barbarians, skeletons... and received no XP points apart from the resolved quests points and some of the enemies (a chaman troll, a barbarian chief...). What is happening? I'm thinking that XP gaining could be someway related to my character's level at that chapter, that the game puts a limit to the leveling up, and until I reach the next chapter I will not receive more XP, but I don't know what's really happening.
Any clue?

If your characters are too high for the part you are in, then you will received reduced xp. The reduction is based on how high your characters have leveled.

and if they are lover level than ordinary... they will get extra XP... so adding level one character now to your party should give you more XP...

Ahh, so that's it. I thought that playing a solo I could level up faster, but not that the game had so a good design and took care of stop insane leveling up, hehe
But now I know that a low level character can speed up the XP gaining... I don't like that idea. If I reach more and more level, fights can become boring.
Thanks for your answers!

You can also squatting some levels too. This will allow you to build up xp without hindering the amount because all you're really doing is gaining xp without taking the level ups.
