Luremaster lag problems

Hi, I played Icewind dale, HoW and the begining of Trials of the luremaster with my dad over LAN and we never had any problems with lag until we entered the cave where the Jackals are. As soon as we entered that cave, we've been experiencing HUGE lag problems, so bad when he cast his spells, I had to wait about 3 minutes until I see him acutaly MOVE to cast it.
Is there any fixes I can perform to stop that? Or are we forced to let one of us play the game until an area unaffected by that lag becomes available?

well, comon reasons for lag are the combanation of too much action and the computers' ping differance which means that one computer is much faster/better then the other. this affects games even more so, i'm not sure why it would have only have been in this area... then again... idk if one of your pcs are better/faster/newer then the other, soo... if thats the casa, get a better pc or update the slow one...
also, there is known to me some lagging problem with iwd running on windows XP... this may also be the problem

Well actualy, I just saw that it's an occuring thing in the levels I am in. It's bad network coding. So, there's these 2 levels in trials of the luremaster that will lag HORRIBLY on a network game, beware people
