I'm running 1.59 original NWN + HotU, and I can't upgrade it because somewhere between 1.59 and the newer patches I lost network connection at that comp, and I figure they're too hard to transfer. Anyway, does 1.62 fix the following bugs/glitches, or is there a fixpack for them or anything?

- Familiar lowers my experience, yet the bastard doesn't level up except when I do, independent of how much I use him.
- Petrified enemies are entitled to Reflex saving throws.
- When I load a save with my sorcerer, I lose like one spell of each level (that I can cast per day). Figure it ignores my charisma bonus or something.
- No matter how much dexterity I have and how many points (and the feat, and gloves of swordplay and what have you) I put in parrying, it sucks, and I'm better off with just attacking normally. Not really a bug, but I had to vent. :P

As for familiar lowering exp. that is due to the rules of difficult rating, so no - that is not fixed, but it isn't a bug either.
This is the case with both henchmen, summons, familiars/companions.

As for the two other bugs, I don't know if they have been fixed, but one could look at the patch notes ;)

Parry generally sucks and needs much attention and items to do anything usefull with it. Just avoid it. :)

Yes, all familiar's and henchman only level up when you do. Henchman stay one level behind you all the time, and familiar's are a mix of one behind and level with you. He isn't really "stealing" experience as much as "losing" it. Because lets face it, you take you character up against a foe with a death-obsessed monk (for example ;) ) and a wacking great bear, you don't deserve the same level of reward as you do for taking them down alone.

I've never EVER gone for parry points anyway, because even with its supposed "benefits", there are other skills that are more valuable anyway.

EDIT: Oh and that is actually quite a short list!

Hotu makes things too easy.

Familiars/Henchmen/Summons taking up experiance kills druids/wizards/sorcs/ prestige classes who want to summon, because they lose a lot of levels in the long run.

Two weapon fighting is overpowered in the original NWN.

Monk kama bug.

The list can go on.

It is not a lot of levels that henchmen and summons "steal".
I use henchmen and summons when playing most characters and I end up around level 26/28 if playing NwN->SoU->HotU with the same character.

The way XP seems to work, is that for each "addition" to your group (henchmen, familiar, summons, companions etc) there is in a fight, the game awards you XP as if you were a level higher.
This means most in the early game and less so later in the game.
There is a bigger difference in the beginning of the game between getting level 3 and level 5 XP, then there is between getting level 19 and 21 XP.

But throughout the game (we'll talk OC for now) you'll probably lose two levels at the most. Most i've heard someone managed to get is level 18 (soloing I believe), and I got to level 16 and used henchmen ALL the time, and an animal companion and summoned creature when I wanted to or for a big fight.

Can't imagine at the end of HotU it is much difference, particularly because the gaps between levels become absolutely huge!

EDIT: For example, the 21,000 XP you need between levels 21 and 22 would make you a level 6 character in the beginning of the game.
