Mord. Sword Glitch

I've come up against an unusual glitch, my Sorceror and Wizard both cast Mordenkainens Sword spells during a fight and started swinging away. When I rested they both still had the Swords! I wouldn't mind except that witt his weapon on, my wzard gets a casting failure chance (with a summoned weapon you automaticaly default to weapon package 1 in your inv. screen - a mace and shield combo for my wizard- and can't change from it).
I'm about to enter the monastery and my casters still have their mord. swords going! Has this happened to anyone else?

No.. load earlier save game if you want to get rid of it..

Heidrek, one thing is sure: this is not normal! Try reloading, I say, I don't think you'll be able to remove them in any other way (or probably try Dispel Magic...) Weird...

got rid of it.
Wish I knew how I got it in the first place, my wizards were kicking some serious backside for a while there, if not for the casting failure I would probably have let it continue!
Unfortunately in Hof mode, you just can't win many of the battles with combat alone. Against the swarms of Hook Horrors, Wyverns and Barbarians that come at your from all sides in chapter 3, even my Barbarian 20/rogue 2 gets munched pretty fast. Without being able to Symbol: Hopleness and Wail of the Banshee I wasn't getting far.
I got rid of the glitch by casting Ball Lightning. It replaced the Mord Sword with 8 lightning balls which I threw and then went back to my normal weapons. I imagine Melfs Minute Meteors would do the same. I've now rearranged my weapons packages so the default is a bow so if it happens again, I can just leave it
