Hi all,

I've almost finished ToB for the first time and would like to paly a new full trilogy (or quotroligy, BG I, TosC, BG II, ToB) fully modded.

Which mods are well-balanced, non buggy and besides that, add something useful/fun to the game for BG I (or either TosC)?

When giving this advice anyway, curious which BG II/ToB mods are useful as well (new NPC's like Sola/Valen, Ascension, new quests etc. etc.)

THanks in advance!

Heya.

Well, I found it challenging to find good usefull mods for BG.

However, ones I used include Ease of Use, BG1 Fix Pack, Improved Bams(can be very buggy and cause game crashes, although it can work perfectly, its quite odd), DarkSideOfSwordCoast and Clan Grey Wolf.

Clan grey wolf worked well, was a nice mod, although I think it gave slightly overpowered spells (however these may be from DSOSC, or possibly a character mod I installed. It gave a fairly nice and simple plot with some nice fairly difficult fights, good alround fun. However, I beleive it had problems working together with DSOSC. ( I couldn't access the extra maps from DSOSC with this one)

DSOSC I think is a better mod, I think it works much better. It appears to have harder fights, more NPC's however it may have 1 or 2 bugs (fairly minor though and repairable).

BG1 Ease of use is great, however its good to realise how hard BG is especially with no bags of holding (etc) without this mod, however you've played 2 so it shoudn't reduce from it too much.

Firewalker was a good mod, although I can't remember exactly what it did, I just remember installing it. I'm sure it was possitive in some way. I think it made the game more difficult.

TUTU is nice, however I hear its VERY buggy. Also, if you haven't played BG1 before it would ruin the experience. TUTU can ruin BG1 from making it impossibly hard (playing monk) or incredibly easy (druid, I think).

If this is your first turn at BG1 don't mod. Maybe half way through throw in Ease of use.

However you might want to start with DSOSC or Grey Wolf Clan, because they are kind of seperate quests and more like Ulgoth's Beard (TOSC).

Goodluck.

http://www.sorcerers.com and http://www.3giberings.com are good mod sites (I think, although spelling may be wrong..)

ACtually I've finished BG I unmodded three times allready (one with mage/cleric, one with fighter (as archer) and one with pali), all of this unmodded. SO I'd like to give it a shot with some mods :) .

Are there any romancing/bantering packs for BG I, seen em for BG II (installed em too ;) ).

What exactly does TuTu do, i see it everywhere but i still dont know what it includes (harder or smt?)

Thnx in advance

Ok, thats cool, then mod up!

TuTu (whatever it stands for is beyond me) is simply BG1 proggrammed into the BG2 engine, therefore it becomes one continuous game (.. don't need to have a seperate bg1 installed) and you get to play with things like banter packs installed which don't work with regular BG, also you can dual wield. You use the BG2 set up (things look different in layout and BAMs, you know it all I'm sure.) Also you get to use things like Archer, Kensai etc, however sometimes these characters end up too powerfull for BG1 with every boss being a walk in the park with certain high level spells.

Also its buggy. It sounds promising, its hard to no longer play specialised characters with BG1, but it is BG1 and you should just do it as it was intended (character wise).

So yeah, only romance/banter packs I've seen are for BG are for TUTU.

Hope my long winded explanaition helped.
