I apologise in advance but I'm in bad mood.

If this is for pvp, there is only one (possibly two) viable pvp builds, and those it is the only one that can survive a reasonable amount of IGMS. You should be able to figure it out pretty easily from what I said above.

Monk/SD/Fighter has HIPS which is far more important then most else, of course the top melee builds will still annihilated you.

40 Monk is good because of insane SR.

600 Hitpoints is nothing (and I think you mean Barb/DD), only survives 2 IGMS

Bard/RDD/CoT will get slaughtered by my now very common Bard build (Drakosha, try to guess it).

Against evil character/creatures the best build is of course Paladin 17/CoT 18/WM 5 dealing a minimum 2135 damage on critical (unlike Torias' build which does a measly 2055 minimum damage). I don't think that this is the maximum either.

This is neverwinter man, how the Heck can you do over 2000 damage on a crit?????????????

And no... I mean a Fighter 10/ Dwarven Defender 30 and a Barbarian 40 ( the barbarian has a dice 12 and 16 i Con)

erm, you can actually do significantly MORE than 2000 on a crit. First, you need a scythe, and you need a Weapon Master than increases it's crit to something like 5x multiplier. Then you add in the paladin's smiting ability (with the epic Smite improvements, lots of them), and you face an evil creature you can hurt them 2000+ easily. Now, laying down 2000+ hurt REGULARLY, against GENERAL enemies, THAT is nearly impossible, if not just flat-out impossible.

okay... I got it now...

I played a paladin 15/ CoT 10 and did 450 divine on the cult elder monk with lay on hands.

To Noober: You were supposed to post YOUR best character, not compare him with the other's characters

I said 2000+ MINIMUM, not max. It's a simple idea, combining the crazy Great Smite multipliers and the critical of a Weapon Mastered Scythe. And don't forget this only works on evil enemies. And Opalescence, the most you could add to my build is probably some 5-6 extra minimum damage max.

Oh yes, and sorry, but I'm spending far to much time at Diablo boards.

hm...
interesting ones...
i think that on pvp the best way is to have fighter with wide critical range and
dev crit feat - only pale master is immune
your ideas are great, but i'll stay with my monk :p
though maybe some time later...who knows?? :)

Realy, guys! gimme some numbers! you say monk 40? what he have? speed and SR? his AB realy sux. one of ways to make him nice pvp - monk30/wizard5/shd5. then we will have something like 10 true-straiks ,HIPS ,dispels, Epic dodge and good AC in Improved expertise. otherwise any fighter will kill us with first devastating. since monk have big amount of atacks per round, theoreticaly he must win on "d20 fight" (fight when oponent will only hit each other on d20 dice. )

for example almost any RDD build can get AB 60+ and DC on devastating 49-50 ,that means to fight that monster AC must be 80+,otherwise we are dead.

2Noober:
Bard/RDD/CoT will get slaughtered by my now very common Bard build (Drakosha, try to guess it).
Very hard to belive. what is common Bard build? fighter/bard/rdd? Bard/RDD/CoT gets fortitude 50+ easyly. only his song will give him +8 to all saves, and Divine Wrath +3. same song will do -8 saves to you. so my devastating will have more chance, becouse yours will kill only on save fauler. that only with saves - song +2 AB,+5 AC. Divine Wrath +3 AB. cursing -2 AB,-5 AC. Taunt -6 AC i belive you don`t have that much skillpoints to waste on concentration and most peoples forgeting about taunt/concentration. then i'll take weapon with hightest enchanment and will Keen it with keen spell from bard.

btw what meaning of IGMS? Isaak's missiles?

The monk also ains immunity to poison, disease, Quivering palm, stunning fist, perfect self, ability to heal himself.

(the Dc on Quivering palm would be minimum 30 on lv 40, then add the wisdom and it will be higher.)

I would say that the best Character depends on the player.

2Fiberfar:
there is bottle of clearicy or imunity to stunning in the realms... and once agin - fighter can easyly do AC 70+ and pure monk hardly will get to AB 50. my favorite class are monk and i know what i am talking about. in PvP monks are great becouse their's unarmed disarm and speed. all other imunities just for fighting monsters.

I know the monk, It is my favourite too. But a little question:

Would there be a good idea to multiclass a monk with a druid?
(I am thinking about the spell owl's wisdom, It boost your wisdom to your half druid level.

yep. one of nicest combos. monk10/druid15/cleric15 i think... we will have all boosting spells of cleric and polymorf into dragon from Dragon shape or monk12/druid15/shifter13

A monk 14/ druid 26 will also be quite powerful, since a druid at 26th level can use elemental shape with no limit. A monk with 3 attacks pr. round that becomes a stone golem with 40+ strength :p

Monk 40 has upto 68 SR, who cares about everything else! Especially because of the huge number of Sorc's now.

IGMS is Isaac's.

The common Bard build I was talking about is the Bard/RDD/Palemaster, far too popular now for my liking :( .

The best character definately DOESN'T depend on the player, all you really have to do is spam and retreat at the right times.
