When i entered the building(after shwoing the invitation to guard)nice movie plays. But in the palace it contunies to play every 2 seconds. i have DVD version and TOSC installed with latest patch.Searched this forum, planetbaldursgate forum and bioware tech support forum for this none of the solutions i found was work.

Here are the solutions i tried(found in various forums none works)

1- Re-installing(still same)
2- Adding Palace=1 line under movies tab in baldur.ini file(it didint made any difference movie still plays)
3- Teleporting into building via cheat(Movie still plays)
4- Teleporting to basement and going up from there(This time basement movie loops)
5- Deleting cd5 movie file from BG directory(Game crashes when entering palace)

latest patch was already installed in whole game. Any new suggestion?

btw i have uploaded my save if you can do that ducal palace section for me and re-upload or mail it to me i will be very grateful.(save is just outside of the palace you just need to show invitation to guard and enter)

Type the following line into the CLUA Console:

CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("EnteredPalace","GLOBAL",1)

The problem is obviously that globals are not being set and this will cause many problems for the of the game. I read that one of the patches fixes a problem with the game running out of globals but I think it was an older problem. It sounds like what you are experiecing, though. You say you have the DVD version... is that The Original Saga? Otherwise, try installing the newest patch from BioWare's site. That is v. 5512.

I seem to remember reading somewhere either here or on the BG II forum that you can disable movies by writing something like "Disable movies= 1, or in that order, in the Baldur.ini file. Would that not solve the problem if you do that, reload the game before entering and try again?

If it works, it would only solve the problem with the repeating movies and not the broken quests.

Yes, but he can then set the globals right back on and it may work? I do not know since I am an amateur when it comes to computers, but it sounds logical that it would work. It is thus logic deduction, not knowledge, that prompts my answer.

There would be a lot of globals to set and he would have to through an awful lot of files to find them all. It is not a working solution for completing the game.

After i killed the doops nothing happens(two dukes are alive). i hate ducal palace :) (Again i started from older save but this it didin t work)

That's a good thing, if Belt dies in the doppleganger battle it's game over. Talk to him, he'll send you where you want to go.
