Your Will Skills

I was curious as to which spells other people picked for their character and why, since I was unsure which spells would be useful for my playing style when I first started.

I myself made only two sets for what my Personality-Statistics say is a Spellwarrior.

The one I use for default is:

X = Lightning (I like using it to catch the random bugs and to stun enemies)
A = Enflame (very useful I find)
B = Summon (I like this spell, but I think it's more of a mage hero's spell)

Secondary set is:

X = Multi Arrow
A = Heal (I chose good, but was bummed that I couldn't get drain life and had to get heal, until I learned heal is an easy way to heal others, which you wouldn't need to do unless you were good, and get them to cheer for you even if they are already healed up)
B = Physical Shield (useful to raise your combat multiplier since it doesn't reset when you have this shield up and are hit)

I wonder if someone else may have chosen better spells for my type of gameplay.

My first time finishing the game I got through it with good archery tactics with force push and heal life. I found the game very easy this way as I could pick off a lot of people with my bow without getting hit. Any enemies that got close to me were simply pushed away for a very little amount of mana and I'd go back to shooting again. Force push was very useful for getting from A to B quickly without distractions. Heal life was very attractive at the start of course and was also very useful for saving allies and myself.

My second time I finished the game was by using lightning and heal life. The rest was up to my melee. I don't find the lightning that good in comparrison to other ways of attacking, a decent sword for example I would preferr. Maybe I should try with a more spell intense character next time round.

Thanks

Hey that was a goos tip on the combat multiplier. I can get 53 for my multiplier and now that I know about the shield, I'll get even higher. I know 53 is high, you have to go to cliffside far out on the northern paths where there are unlimited undead minions that spawn non stop, you'll always be surrounded by 3 of them.

I do know that there is a Demon Door you can't enter without raising your multiplier really high.

:)

Yeah, all you need for that door is to speak to it when your multiplier is at 14.

My melee dude had SLOW TIME, MULTI-STRIKE, and PHYS SHIELD as the main spells. Multi-strike is really deadly, especially in combination with slow time...makes you pretty invincible

My archer currently has MULTI-ARROW, SLOW TIME, and FORCE-PUSH...slow time, push off any fast buggers who came to close to me, then shower them with chaotic arrows with multi-arrow.

:D

I tried summon once, then my wasp killed a beetle, so i was stuck with a beetle summon, MOST USELESS SPELL EVER...

Bloodthroe, are you a mage or archer? Your spells don't seem to be in one specific class. I mean, whats the point in investing points in enflame or multi-arrow if you already have an attack-spell. In my opinion, having one attack and the rest of the experience spent in defensive spells is a better decision.

To paladin,

Well at that point in the game when I had only spent so many hours on it. I was, as my personality-statistics said, a spellwarrior. And that's pretty much what I was going for. A spellwarrior who occasionally used the bow. I hadn't really found my calling yet so I was trying out everything. It seems now I have a better idea of what the spells do and how to combine them to kick that word that will get edited if I type it in these forums.

Like you I found the combo of using slowtime, multi-arrow, and force push to do the most damage as an archer. As for my Spellwarrior, my brother still has my fable game so I haven't been able to create a new character and I figure I'll make up a new spell set when I get the game back.

I'm thinking something like:
Battle Charge
Enflame (or force push)
Lightning (or Fireball)

secondary set:
Healing
Physical Shield
Slowtime

I was looking at Multi-stike, but it seems that you have to recast it after every strike. So I thought it might be more hassle then useful. I did get multi-arrow for my first spellwarrior, but I won't be using the bow for my second spell warrior. Summon is a neat spell and like I said it seems more for a mage type player. Although some creatures it replaces as, like the beetle are pretty useless and their AI won't let them attack hardly anything, but things like the wasp have an aggressive AI and go after baddies immediatly. So the spell is only useful in certain times in the game. The new spellwarrior I'll be having might have the spells I listed above and it might not. Like I said I'll put more thought into it whenever I get the game back. Also it seems that enflame and battle charge do the same damage. So if enflame seems to be able to hit more people in different angles. The only reason I'd get Battle Charge is if it costs less mana.

The dog's testicules?

I think assassin rush is not worth maxing... Its only use is when you are cornered or somethin right? Yet you can just run instead of assassin rushing, and if you use it to attack people from behind...slow time does a better job.

no?

It means the dog's bollocks, a saying in England when something is good.

I guess you're right about the Slow Time but I prefer using Assassin Rush, it's all down to how you play the game I suppose

Well assassin rush gets you behind the enemy right? So if you up against someone that is blocking your attacks, just assassin rush 'em. Might make a good combo with Multi Strike. Don't know myself.

I guess I've figured out the spell sets that I might use when I get my fable game back.
Good Warrior - Battle Charge, Multi-Strike, Assassin Rush, Heal Life, Berserk.
Evil Archer
- Force Push, Slow Time, Summon, Drain Life, Multi-Arrow.
Neutral Mage - Lightning, Physical Shield, Enflame, Fireball, Ghost Sword, Turncoat.
Surprisingly, that's what I came up with. Even though I'm not normally the type to have that many characters.

summon? I know I've said this already but, WOW! I hate it so bad... Had a bad experience with my wasp killing the 10 HP beetle and being stuck with that same beetle for the entire game. I've heard that even balverine summons aren't that great...Maybe a white balverine from the arena could be good i guess...but my tip to all you future summoners out there: DONT LET YOUR SUMMON KILL A BEETLE

Heh I know what you mean. Luckily I saved the game b4 I got the beetle summon and reloaded it. Then I made my wasp kill a bandit. I wish they wouldve made the AI of the monsters better so that summon wouldn't suck sometimes.

Okay, what the heck are you supposed to do if youre already stuck with a beetle??? It is completely worthless. I am also far enough into the game that there's no hope of finding something weak enough for it to kill... Is there any way i can undo this or anything I can do to make it stronger???? :mad: I dont want to waste experience on leveling up summon because im pretty sure that just makes the creature stick around longer, but is there any chance the creature could get any stronger?
