Unarmored/Light Armor Bug?

Ok, I have restarted, and are now a Dark Elf. Scince I'm the type that prefer mobility over resitance, I went for the light armor. Also, I equipped a robe, just for the looks of it.

The problem: When I fight, some times I get the message: "You advanced to level 7(or whatever) in Unarmored skill." But as far as I can remember, I haven't gotten any Light Armor skill yet. Does it count the robe as a no-armor, and rely my def and stuff on that?

It simply means that a certain part of your body is unproctected. As a result, when you get hit there often enough, you develop skill in Unarmored.

Wow. This game is really realistic(if you forget the fact that it is set in a world with magic)!

How can I protect those parts? Heavy Armor?

You can get full suits of light armor. You must just be missing a piece. That or it got broken and unequipped and you haven't noticed.

I thought if you wore any artical of clothing than your unarmored skill could possibly go up. I also thought that if you took off all robes, pants, and shirts than Unarmored wouldnt go up

if you wear gauntlets your elbows ARE unarmored, if you wear bracers your hands ARE unarmored, if you dont wear a full helm you CAN be thrsted in the face so your unarmored there, if you wear a full helm there is a bit that you CAN be thrusted in, if you wear a closed helm you CANT be hit for unarmored skills, between the greaves and boots there is sometimes a spot where there is no armor, so you CAN be hit there for unarmored

Unarmored is about dodging and evading attacks. It doesn't matter if you are completely naked or dressed in 5 shirts and 10 pants.

After the first post, Isaw that there were several open spots in the armor I used, which was FULL Chitin. I just bought some kind of purple lady-armor, called Doma-sometinhg, which seems pretty closed to me, no open spots, except the face.

Poor guy, its surely tight in there, his legs were twice the size of that armor! ;)

I were attacked by a lot of rats, that bit me in the legs, that might be the reason. Filthy creatures!

rats arent as annoying as cliff racers and slaughterfish though

Slaughterfish and Cliff Racers are by far the most annoying(IMO) but unarmored seems to be one of the best skills. At a high level you will not take much damage nor will you have the burden of carrying armor all over the place meaning you are free to explore for longer unhindered by the weight your armor gives you.

@Nobleheart, unarmored is only good because you have nothing to repair(except your weapon) and you have alot less NEEDED burden, if you wear light or heavy armor at 100 you get more AR than 100 unarmored im not sure about medium armor though....

I agree, Sean, I hate all those creatures that's not a real challenge, just annoying (rats, cliffracers, slaughterfish, nix-hounds...)!

Any way to remove them permanently?
