Weird songs that just make you smile

Well i am listening to Kungfu fightin'. Now that literally is a weird song, but its great to listen to for some odd reason. Always puts a smile on my face when the song comes on. But what other songs do that. One I can think of from the 80's is "Whip it good". The blatant sexual connatations in that song just...i dont know it. I find it hilarious.

One strange, but funny song is a song that my friend wrote about Oedipus (The story of the man who defeated the Sphinx, killed his father accidentally, and married his mom accidentally). It is an awesome song.
I can't think of any more at the moment.

Me? "Breakfast at Tiffany's" (I still don't know who sung it, but that song always cracks me up)
oh, and let's not forget the greatest song in the world: "Tribute" by Tenacious D!

Our House
by Madness

Father wears his Sunday best
Mother's tired she needs a rest
The kids are playing up downstairs
Sister's sighing in her sleep
Brother's got a date to keep
He can't hang around

Our house, in the middle of our street
Our house, in the middle of our

Our house it has a crowd
There's always something happening
And it's usually quite loud
Our mum she's so house-proud
Nothing ever slows her down
And a mess is not allowed

Our house, in the middle of our street
Our house, in the middle of our ...

Our house, in the middle of our street
Our house, in the middle of our ...
Something tells you that you've got to get away from it

Father gets up late for work
Mother has to iron his shirt
Then she sends the kids to school
Sees them off with a small kiss
She's the one they're going to miss
In lots of ways

Our house, in the middle of our street
Our house, in the middle of our ...

I remember way back then when everything was true and when
We would have such a very good time such a fine time
Such a happy time
And I remember how we'd play simply waste the day away
Then we'd say nothing would come between us two dreamers

Father wears his Sunday best
Mother's tired she needs a rest
The kids are playing up downstairs
Sister's sighing in her sleep
Brother's got a date to keep
He can't hang around

Our house, in the middle of our street
Our house, in the middle of our street

Our house, in the middle of our street
Our house, in the middle of our ...

Our house, was our castle and our keep
Our house, in the middle of our street

Our house, that was where we used to sleep
Our house, in the middle of our street

Our house, in the middle of our street

Poisoning Pigeons in the Park
...by Tom Lehrer

Spring is here, a-suh-puh-ring is here.
Life is skittles and life is beer.
I think the loveliest time of the year is the spring.
I do, don't you? 'Course you do.
But there's one thing that makes spring complete for me,
And makes every Sunday a treat for me.

All the world seems in tune
On a spring afternoon,
When we're poisoning pigeons in the park.
Every Sunday you'll see
My sweetheart and me,
As we poison the pigeons in the park.

When they see us coming, the birdies all try an' hide,
But they still go for peanuts when coated with cyanide.
The sun's shining bright,
Everything seems all right,
When we're poisoning pigeons in the park.

We've gained notoriety,
And caused much anxiety
In the Audubon Society
With our games.
They call it impiety
And lack of propriety,
And quite a variety
Of unpleasant names.
But it's not against any religion
To want to dispose of a pigeon.

So if Sunday you're free,
Why don't you come with me,
And we'll poison the pigeons in the park.
And maybe we'll do
In a squirrel or two,
While we're poisoning pigeons in the park.

We'll murder them all amid laughter and merriment,
Except for the few we take home to experiment.
My pulse will be quickenin'
With each drop of strych'nine
We feed to a pigeon.
(It just takes a smidgin!)
To poison a pigeon in the park.

Mr. Mastodon Farm by Cake

Birds fall from the window ledge above mine.
Then they flap their wings at the last second.
You see birds fall from the window ledge above mine.
Then they flap their wings at the last second.
I can see their dead weight
Just dropping like stones
For small loaves of bread
Past my window all the time.
But unless I get up
Walk across the room
And peer down below
I don't see their last second curves
Toward a horizontal flight.
All these birds just falling from the ledge like stones.
Now due to a construct in my mind
That makes their falling and their flight
Symbolic of my entire existence,
It becomes important for me
To get up and see
Their last second curves toward flight.
It's almost as if my life will fall
Unless I see their ascent.
Mr. Mastodon Farm,
Mr. Mastodon Farm,
Cuts swatches out of all material.
Mr. Mastodon Farm,
Mr. Mastodon Farm,
Cuts swatches out of all material.
Birds fall from the window ledge above mine.
Then they flap their wings at the last second.
I said birds fall from the window ledge above mine.
Then they flap their wings at the last second.
But unless I get up,
Walk across the room
And peer down below,
I won't see their last second curves
Toward a, a horizontal flight.
All these birds just falling from the ledge like stones.
Now due to a construct in my mind
That makes their falling and their flight
Symbolic of my entire existence,
It becomes important for me
To get up and see
Their last second curves toward flight.
It's almost like my life will fall,
My life will fall,
Unless I see their ascent.
Mr. Mastodon Farm,
Mr. Mastodon Farm,
Cuts swatches out of all material.
Mr. Mastodon Farm,
Mr. Mastodon farm,
Cuts swatches out of all material.
Mr. Mastodon Farm,
Mr. Mastodon farm,
Cuts swatches out of all material.

THE PRESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA LYRICS

"We Are Not Going To Make It"

We're not gonna make it
Oh, no!
We're not gonna make it

Cause there's a million better bands
with a million better songs
Singers who can drum
Singers who can sing

Deep in my heart,
I do believe
We're not gonna make it
Oh, no!
We're not gonna make it

Cause we don't have the talent
And we don't have the time
We don't have the patience
And we don't know how to rhyme

No, no, no
We're not gonna make it!

AHH - I had forgotten the "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park" song, Fable! Hahaha!

One more to add - "Men in Tights" (the song sung in the movie by the Merry Men)

Me, it would have to be 'All Float On' by Modest Mouse, especially when I see the video for that song on tv. The cardboard-cut-out-looking band, the fake mustache on the singer, and all that happy hoo-ha just seems to add to something comically bizarre!

I forgot the title of the song, but the first line is "I'm too sexy for my shirt". Always makes me smile :) And there's another, a song of Eros Ramazotti, but I forgot the title.

It's the 5 6 7 8s. And the song is excellent. Though I have to say I prefer Twisted Nerve myself.

And a weird song that made me smile when I first heard it, and still manages to do so is The Gin Soaked Boy by The Divine Comedy (thanks mcCool ;) )

The Gin Soaked Boy
I’m the darkness in the light
I’m the leftness in the right
I’m the rightness in the wrong
I’m the shortness in the long
I’m the goodness in the bad
I’m the saneness in the mad
I’m the sadness in the joy
I’m the gin in the gin soaked boy
The gin soaked boy
I’m the ghost in the machine
I’m the genius in the gene
I’m the beauty in the beast
I’m the sunset in the east
I’m the ruby in the dust
I’m the trust in the mistrust
I’m the Trojan horse in Troy
I’m the gin in the gin soaked boy
The gin soaked boy
I’m the tiger empty cage
I’m the mystery's final page
I’m the stranger's lonely glance
I’m the hero’s only chance
I’m the undiscovered land
I’m the single grain of sand
I’m the Christmas morning toy
I’m the gin in the gin soaked boy
The gin soaked boy
I’m the world you’ll never see
I’m the slave you’ll never free
I’m the truth you’ll never know
I’m the place you’ll never go
I’m the sound you’ll never hear
I’m the course you’ll never steer
I’m the will you’ll not destroy
I’m the gin in the gin soaked boy
Yeah, the gin soaked boy
I’m the half truth in the lie
I’m the why not in the why
I’m the last roll of the di
I’m the old school in the tie
I’m the spirit in the sky
I’m the catcher in the rye
I’m the twinkle in her eye
I’m Jeff Goldblum in "The Fly"
Well, who am I?
