Restoration works aswell although I load every time that occurs, to be on the safe side =) always keeps my Ariel Servants in front of me in battle and keep the rest of the part on the other sode of map T_T.
Ariel Servants can kill anything so why risk anything T_T

Once you have a high enough level cleric, it's not too bad (Lesser Restoration is a 4th level cleric spell, so it won't take long ... unless of course you don't have a cleric ...).
Note that even though you're level drained, you're still accumulating XP, so don't feel you have to rush back to temple right away.

fred, i think we get the point that you like your ariel servants. you can stop mentioning it in every topic now.
@dkong: restoration will take care of the level drain but not the energy drain. energy drain removes strength but it comes back after a while.
when fighting undead, try and keep your summons (if you use them) in front of you as fred said. also use your cleric spells - sunray and false dawn are particularly effective. the turn undead ability can be useful to buy you some time also (thats the skull icon on the cleric's toolbar at the bottom of the screen). there are also three weapons that you will find extremely useful - azuredge, daystar and the mace of disruption.
but i won't spoil you, you can find them yourself

The easiest way: steal some Restoration scrolls and keep them with you throughout the game. That leaves your Cleric spell slots for something more universally useful.
