Aerie Romance

Aerie and I have made it to, eh, the point of consummation, you might say. But then the next morning, she tells me we're going too fast and that we need to slow down a bit. She even suggested leaving! And all this after a slew of complements on my performance!
Needless to say, I'm heartbroken. ;-) To make things worse, since that night I haven't heard anything other than the standard everyday comments. What gives here? Does she start to talk again, or is this the end of the conversations? Has anyone gone thru this to the end, and knows what's supposed to happen?

It seams she's happier if you choose NOT to sleep with her

Eldric: That is the end of the romance, you can either choose to sleep with her or not. Not sleeping with her seems to be the better choice, but you can still keep her in the party if you work the dialogue right. If she's still in the party that means the romance is completed successfully.

I think that the "Aerie romance" has bad ending no matter what you do.
Anyway, i'm not sure if Haer'Dalis has anything to do with it or not ?!?!?

Peter: Haer'Dalis will start flirting with Aerie if you're having a romance with her, this can actually develop into a romance. But I don't think he have anything with the romance ending badly, because if Aerie continue her romance with you, that means her romance with Haer'Dalis ended.

Well, I thought I did...I remember making all the committments. But now, she's quiet and has been for awhile; it would be nice to get some kind of complaint or something.

I'm in Ust Natha right now and chose to get down with Phaere. Does anyone know if she will leave. She certainly seemed ticked off at my decision. Given Aerie's committment to my Kensai/Mage, I've gotten rid of all other NPC's except Imoen who only serves the purpose of find traps/pick locks. I don't want to be left alone with a depressed psycho child of Bhaal.
First post, woo hoo!

Does that mean that the conversation continues if you don't sleep with her? I'm starting to think that the Jahiera romance might be longer lasting than this one.

Eh...that's not the answer I was looking for. (grin) But I guess it will have to do; basically you're saying that it's over right? But if that's the case, why is it when I check the "AerieRomanceActive" variable it's showing 2, which would seem to indicate that everything is still in progress? That is what I don't understand.

When AerieRomanceActive global is 2, it means that the romance is in the 'advance' stage, since it is set when the lovetalk reaches 36. This could either mean that it is near completion or that you have completed it successfully, because if you didn't do it successfully, the AerieRomanceActive global would turn to 3, meaning the romance is terminated.
Ned: Aerie will not leave the party, but unfortunately, the romance is over.
Edit - Maybe I should rephrase my answers. Ok, if AerieRomanceActive global is 2, it means you and her are in love and it will remain that way, unless you choose the wrong dialogue or did something you're not supposed to. If the global is 3, it means the romance is over and you both hate each other, well not really but you get the idea.
If she is still in your party after the dialogue where you have to choose whether to sleep with her or not, then the romance is a success. Although you will not get any more dialogues until later in the game, Spellhold, Phaere, confront Bodhi (2nd time).
Hopes this cleared things up.

He's not in the party. But I have heard that if he is, and you have an ongoing romance with Aerie, you end up in a fight to the death.

I just read another thread in one of the other posts where the person said that they had made the same choice, and Aerie had gotten severely pissed off. I can't remember wether she ended up leaving that guys party or not; maybe he did'nt say, but in any case expect some flak...

It really did, Sabre...thanks alot. If I'm understanding you correctly, you're saying that although the "romance is over", there are still dialogues that take place with Aerie after you get to the Spellhold island. Compare that with Jahiera; is there an ongoing sexual relationship with her as well as conversation, or is it sort of a one timer like Aerie, but with more conversation?
I checked the "Lovetalk" variable with respect to Aerie, and in my game it's set to 49. How high does it go?

Eldric: She did get pretty pissed off but what is a drow to do. I mean, Phaere demanded the skins so.......... Anyway, I finished the underdark and she is still with me which is cool. Now that I am out of the underdark, I am going to try to finish the game with my Kensai/mage and Aerie.

Eldric: All romances works the same way, the only difference is the time it takes to finish them. Aerie's lovetalk only go up to 49, compared to Jaheira - 71 and Viconia - 77, Anomen's only go up to 37 (for female protagonists)
After checking the scripts I would say the Viconia's romance is the only one that continue after you sleep with her, in fact you can sleep with Viconia twice, if it really matters to anyone.
All romances end with the dialogue where you choose to sleep with them or not, except Viconia and Anomen. For Anomen, the dialogue come when the lovetalk is 32, and Viconia ones come at 40, 50 and 62 (although you should not at 62).
Ned: She is still in the party but the romance is over as I said earlier, AerieRomanceActive is set to 3. If you want the romance to continue, set it back to 1 (if LoveTalk is less than 36) or to 2 (if LoveTalk more than 36).

Sabre: Thanks for the information, it is greatly appreciated. Now I know not to look for further conversation, since the Lovetalk variable in this game is 49. I find it interesting, though, that there was a romance that started up with Jahiera a while after we escaped prison, then she and Aerie argued a bit, and since then she's been silent as a mouse. I kind of wonder what the turning point was for Jahiera after Aerie joined the group.

Do you remember what they said? Because if you have them in the party, at a certain point you'll have to choose between them, this will end one of the romance depends on which one you choose. There's a multi-romance thing if you want to have more than one romance simultaneously. If you want I can send it to you, or check my post for more detail.

Hey, Sabre...I've been thinking about your question, and the last time Jahiera said anything was when Aerie and her were arguing, and Aerie made a comment about her not spending alot of time grieving for Khalid. Since that point she's stayed zipped.
After that, Aerie moved in uncontested, and I caved into the mush pressure.
And...yes I'm very interested in getting a copy of your scripts!
