i was doing haer'dalis's quest in the astral plain. I finished it and talked to the middle woman. she thanked me and i recieved 44000 exp, i then talked to the woman above her and recieved another 44000exp. then i clicked her again...another 44000 exp, and again, and again, and again...till i got bored and decided to post to see if anyone else knew about this

You can't exit the prison? Why? Can you be more specific? Did you finish the quest?

the actors are not casting the spell to exit the planar prison :\ they are just giving me the thank you for saving us line and thats it..

There is a Baldurdash patch to fix this.

should i download the throne of bhaal patch or shadows of amn? (or both?)

EDIT: i think it has something to do with me booting haer'dalis outa my party before going into the portal

If you have ToB installed, get the ToB patch. It also includes the SoA patch. If you don't have ToB, just install the SoA patch.
And kicking HD out of your party didn't affect your game like this. BGfan is right; it's a bug which can probably be solved by Baldurdash.

You've tried Quit-Reboot-Reload? If that doesn't work, then you may have to go back to an earlier save. I've not encountered this problem myself, however, so I'm not sure what may be causing it.

IS there anyway to get haer'dalis back into my party even if he isnt in the planar prison?

I encountered the same problem, but it doesn't interrupt with the game:
If on Brynnlaw you drug the guards in the Festhall and return to the cook after you've saved Claire the coock will thank you and everyone in the party will get 2100 (I think) Quest exp. points, everytime you talk to her you will get it again.

Did you replay the quest? If you in mid-quest the patch won't take effect.

oh yes, i restarted a new character and it worked fine. i still have the 1st game saved where i left off. I really think it was me kicking Haer'dalis out of my group. Is there a caul comand to get him my area/group?

Have you tried killing all the actors?

yes, yes. in many different ways. traps, spells, backstabbing, ect. Then i got bored, used my limited wish spell so i had the place swarming with lil bunnies and then used incedary cloud. They are worth 6 exp btw...same amount as a kobold

My personal favorite is in Watcher's Keep...

Find the Chromatic Demon on the second floor. Clear the floor, and when you're ready, click on the demon to release him, pause as soon as the conversation is over, and if you pause quickly, he hasn't turned red yet and is still in the cage. Force talk him again, and he will reappear in the midst of your team, and will stay blue, allowing you to continue to talk to him unless you give him a few extra seconds after the conversation (it sort of starts a timer after each chat that lasts one second, after which he turns red and fights you - get him before and you con loop the conversation over and over). Oh, did I mention you get 30K per person after each conversation (or thereabouts)?

I have taken a team almost right out of Irenicus' prison, and each ended up with over 4 million exp. Of course, that's not as fun as the chickens.
