As many of you know, the idiots at my work have blocked GameBanshee, so I haven't been able to hang out here as much as I'd like.

Life's been pretty good, and at the beginning of this month, my wife and I went on our first cruise. We had a blast and I'm in the process of writing my vacation diary from the trip, which you can read in my blog. I'm up to day 8 and I'm hoping to have it finished tomorrow. I've also posted some pix from the trip in the SYM Photo Album, but I'm hoping to get some more posted on a website soon.

Great to hear from you again, HLD! I was unaware that GB was blocked at your worksite. Doesn't this constitute inhumane and unusual punishment?

In any case, I'll have to go read your blogs. In turn, I'll be putting up here sometime (soon?) excerpts from my diary kept on our Hungarian vacation this past year.

Hey good to have you back. You should post more often or atleast try. Hey we can see if the techies here can think up ways or hacks for you to access Gamebanshee.

A pity your job is blocking GB, I have heard that in the US it is not uncommon that employeers block private surfing from the office. I have seen some surprisingly high estimations (30-40%) of how private surfing decreases production, so maybe it makes sense, but I don't know how reliable those estimations are. There are also studies showing that people who surf from work, spend more hours working at home than they surf from work, and thus more than make up for the "lost time". There are even studies reporting surfing increases productivity by providing stress relief etc. So I don't know, there are no conclusive results handy AFAIK.

I'm in decent heath (just had a cold), I'm very happy because yesterday I got funds for my most important project. Tomorrow I'm going to a conference about schizophrenia. Hope you are fine too!

My job only selectively blocks certain sites. For instance, anything having to do with computer gaming is blocked as are all fantasy sports sites. However, news and porn is not blocked. Go figure.

Wow. I don't get it. GameBanshee gets locked out, but porn gets in?? Am I the only one who sees something wrong with this picture?
