If the bleepin' wizard at the Many-Starred joint in chapter 3 won't let me access the laboratory because I'm not the right class, how do I make the Gargoyle Boots? My Ranger/Rogue--who I might say, has had no difficulty creating a veritable wealth of other items, and has yet to find a scroll or wand he can't use--can unleash six kinds of holy hell onto her before she can even cast a magic missle, but she has the audacity to tell me to buzz off? (Yes, I know I can buy them also, but I consider that an unacceptable alternative). I tried creating them in the wizard's dungeon in the Coldwood area, but no joy.

What? I always thought -any- alchemists apparatus would do...

Anyway - only way I see here is cheating, then. Either you summon the item "many-starred cloak" (the badge of membership to that order) or you simply go to the enclave and then teleport right into that laboratory.
