Drain Life Question

I haven't made an evil character. However in most games, I do choose to be on the good side, but I enjoy using the drain life spell. In fable it says only the evil can master the drain life spell. Is this true? Can someone emphasize why? or is it all b.s. and that I can master the spell with a good character?
Also Gromph, you said you used heal life and drain life. How's that working out for you?

You need to have the evil bar full, so you can buy the level 7 drain life.

I love playing the evil characters...always being the bad guy, never doing anything good...it allows the boundries of evilness to stretch, no code of honour amongst evil dudes...it has it's perks i think.

Yea i was asking myself that also Bloodthroe... And why is there an alignment modifier for certain spells? i.e. Phys shield, berserk, drain life and heal life... When i used the spells that had an allignment modifier on 'em it didn't do anything... Or is it only when i upgrade those spells? What's up with the "evil" and "good" spells anyways? Please explain

Well all alignment effects is how many exp points it costs to buy those spells. But for drain life it says only the truely evil can master it, which I don't know why it says that.

Hrmm I don't like drain life even when I played evil I just speced in heal even though it put some points in good nothin a village slaughter could fix. I tried being good and used it once I got to full rank, just some alighnment points towards evil, nothin a dungeon crawl couldent fix

You do realize that it's evil to try and compensate one evil deed with a good one, right?

Well the reason I like the Drain Life spell so much in video games is because it deals damage to an enemy while giving you life, which leaves a nice chunk of HP difference. Since it's supposed to deal enough damage to heal your life it's usually not a weak spell in video games. You can use it to deal direct damage to creatures with a lot of melee and/or elemental armor and since it heals you while dealing damage to an enemy it's usually worth whatever damage you take while casting it. I'm of course not speaking from just fable's view of the drain life spell.

Blood you are not definatly speaking from a Fable point of veiw bro. I play a lot of Jedi games starting from Dark Force in which Kyle Katarn has no jedi powers and you don't even meet a jedi except you see lord vader in the opening cinematic. In those Jedi games drain life at rank 3 (or was it 4?) was one of my favorite abilities cause of the draining and the cool crimson lightning effect
. In Fable sometimes those little bubbles that carry the drained life back to you healed the guy or another monster/humaniod you drained or was next to you, so HEAL LIFE is the answer HE IS IN NEED OF THE HE-HE-HEAL-HEALING
.
