I'm starting a new game, and am trying to pick a new class. I have completed the game with both a Sorc and a Barbarian. What class should I try? I want something fun, but powerful enough to import into ToB. Any thoughts?

There is a good informative download (though this persons opinion!) called Riverwinds Guide To Character Classes.

I was looking for ideas on a solo (ish) character and was considering dual/multi classes. Check it out! I would include the link but I don`t know how to do it (!) but anyway it is under downloads... :D

I tried a monk my 3th playtrough and I HIGHLY recommend it.He deals as much damage with his martialarts and ki moves as any fighter with a sword and maybe even more. But I want to add this:what's my recommendation worth to you when there are so many specs around here :o

In my opinion, both classes are great, but you'll find yourself getting bored with a monk much faster than with a swashy.

Go for a monk. He might have more than +3 enchantment for his fist when ToB comes out :) and also his basic AC will be -10 (plus other +10 AC bonus from various items) as well as insane #attacks. Also he would have 120% magic resistance by the time he hits lv40, which means that magic will heal him so you can just walk over the trap and it will not affect you.

Except that bio has stated they will cap the monk's magic resistance at a value not much above what he ends ToB with. A Wizardslayer will actually have better magic resistance in ToB.
