Hello

I've now aquired "The Beast", my new beautiful computer which installs games in under two minutes! I'm actually quite nervous of it!

However, I have a problem. I need to know how many discs the original - the absolute original - Never Winter Nights game is. I don't mean the re-issued version, in case they've managed to condense the information.

The problem is I have 3 discs to the game, labeleld (helpfully) disc 1, 2 and 3. There does not apeear to be any actual playing disc. Now, it might be that disc 3 is the same as the playing disc, but I don't want to load up three discs, and for it to ask me for another disc. I'd rather buy the game again than to risk what happened with Baldur's gate - I had to stop installing and then it decided that the games was installed but wouldn't play it. I eventually gave up trying to back up my computer in order to be able to wipe out the files and to wait for my new machine instead. However, one of the reasons I bought "the Beast" was in order to be able to play NWN properly on it and to be able to finish HOTU.

Please can someone let me know?

Many thanks.

*erm*... I admit I cannot entirely grasp your problem... if you have an original version, how can there be doubt about how many CDs there are? Or... are you afraid that you lost a cd since you last installed it?

Well, anyway - the NWN game in its original state consists of 3 CDs (two install-CDs and one playdisc). So if you have three CDs at hand, then you have all you need. The expansions come on one disc each, so if you plan on installing NWN+SoU+HotU, you should have 3+1+1 = 5 discs.

On the original NWN disk three is both an install disk and a play disk. When you install SoU, the SoU disk becomes the play disk, when you install HoTU, the HoTU disk becomes the play disk.

Sorry guys, should have explained that I did in fact managed to separate all three discs so that they were scattered about my room. I have only just found "all" of them. OK, so there are three discs, disc three becoming the play disc. Excellent. I have no problems with SoU or Hotu as I put SoU back in its box and into a cupboard, and Hotu has barely been out of my disc drive.

Thank you both, I will unleash the beast tonight.
